Inflation-Based Antifouling
An inflation-based antifouling system and method that include an inflatable film configured to be disposed on a target clean surface; and an inflation device that inflates the inflatable film such that bio-fouling is removed from the target clean surface.
A WATER VESSEL HULL PROTECTOR AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION
A water vessel hull protector including a support frame defining an internal volume within which a watercraft can be removably located and at least one barrier skin configured to extend across the internal volume of the support frame, and mounted to the support frame to extend above the waterline to separate the support frame from an external water body in order to prevent fouling of the support frame by marine growth.
STRUCTURED GAS-CONTAINING SURFACES
The present invention relates to structured, gas-holding surfaces for improving the friction-reducing properties of gas layers held under a liquid and for the simultaneous suppression of turbulence. The present invention furthermore relates to a device comprising this structured, gas-holding surface and to the use of this structured, gas-holding surface.
FORMABLE AQUATIC COVERINGS FOR PREVENTING BIOFOULING
The instant invention describes an anti-biofouling structure for placement onto structures or surfaces that are exposed to aquatic environments. Embedded within the anti-biofouling structure are agents that can diffuse out of the structure and prevent the formation and/or accumulation of plant and animal species build-up that creates biofouling. The instant invention also describes a system for preventing biofouling of an object stored in an aquatic environment which includes the anti-biofouling structure, and a protective cover element constructed and arranged to fit various structures, such as boat propellers.
BOAT FENDER WITH IMPROVED IMPACT PROTECTION
An impact absorbing device includes a waterproof outer sleeve and a core assembly disposed within the outer sleeve. The core assembly includes a bendable structural element encased in foam.
SUBMERSIBLE SENSOR UNIT
As a conventional antifouling measure to prevent adherence of aquatic organisms to a submersible sensor unit, a grease containing a stimulant, such as mustard, capable of repelling aquatic organisms is applied onto a sensing part thereof, thereby preventing adherence of the aquatic organisms. However, the irritant-containing grease applied onto the sensing part will come off within one to two months, resulting in disappearance of its effect. Thus, it is necessary to perform work of pulling up the submersible sensor unit and re-applying the grease, in each case. The present invention provides a water flow resistant submersible sensor unit which comprises an aquatic organism adherence preventive film capable of preventing adherence of aquatic organisms even when used in the submersible sensor unit for about half a year, almost without involving any underwater movement, and capable of, after use, being easily peeled off from the submersible sensor unit.
AN ELECTRIC CURRENT SUPPLY SYSTEM, DESIGNED TO BE AT LEAST PARTIALLY SUBMERGED IN AN ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE LIQUID DURING OPERATION THEREOF
An electric current supply system (20) is designed to be at least partially submerged in an electrically conductive liquid during operation thereof, and comprises at least one electrically conductive component (21, 22, 23, 24) enveloped in liquid-tight material (40). The component (21, 22, 23, 24) comprises sacrificial material that is capable of reacting electrochemically with the liquid. Further, the component (21, 22, 23, 24) comprises at least one gas trap portion (50) at which the sacrificial material occupies a space in the liquid-tight material (40) that is thereby defined with a gas trapping shape. If, in case of damage to the system (20) in an actual submerged state thereof, the component (21, 22, 23, 24) gets exposed to the liquid, it is achieved that an electrochemical reaction occurring at the exposed area of the component (21, 22, 23, 24) and an outflow of electric current to the liquid are stopped.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING FOULING AND/OR CORROSION ON VESSELS AND MARINE OBJECTS
A corrosion or fouling prevention system for preventing the fouling or corrosion of a vessel or an aquatic object having a surface in contact with seawater and/or brackish water in an aquatic environment, the system comprising: a flexible and non-permeable barrier that extends about a surface of the vessel or aquatic object to avoid direct contact between the surface and the seawater and/or brackish water, an attachment structure for attachment of the barrier relative to the vessel or aquatic object to position the barrier in a spaced apart arrangement from the surface of the vessel to define an internal volume in between the surface of the vessel of the object and the barrier to receive a fluid that has a composition that is different to the aquatic environment.
Outdrive flexible shield apparatus
An outdrive flexible shield apparatus has a rectangular frame and a rectangular flexible liner. The frame has a front pole, a left back corner, and a right back corner. The front pole of the rectangular frame has a left segment and a right segment, the right segment separated by a gap from the left segment. A circular opening is medially disposed within a front surface of the rectangular flexible liner. The rectangular flexible liner is attachable to the frame. A left rope attaches the back left corner of the apparatus to a boat and another right rope attaches the back right corner of the apparatus to the boat. A dissolvable chlorine cartridge is removably disposable within the cavity of the substantially rectangular flexible liner.
VENT FOR SHRINK WRAP WATERCRAFT STORAGE
A vent for use with a film-wrapped watercraft includes a body having a piercing tip at a first end and a hood member at a second end. A guide member extends from the body to an area proximate the piercing tip. The guide member includes a positioning structure proximate the piercing tip. A vent member is positioned under the body. Apertures of the vent member are positioned between a lower edge of the vent member and the hood member. The positioning structure is configured to slidably engage a watercraft wrap and allow the piercing tip to pierce the watercraft wrap. The positioning structure and the piercing tip are configured to guide a portion of the watercraft wrap over the body and under the guide member and the positioning structure.
