Drone defense system

A disruption device for fixing to an aerial vehicle. The disruption device is adapted to disrupt at least one radio path between at least one receiving unit of an unmanned flying body and at least one transmitting unit provided for controlling the flight path of the unmanned flying body. An aerial vehicle having the disruption device is further provided.

METHOD FOR PILOTING AN AIRCRAFT

A method for piloting a pre-existing aircraft comprising the following steps: integrating an alternative piloting system (1) into the pre-existing aircraft; connecting the aircraft (200) and a ground station in which a ground pilot (207) is positioned; when the aircraft is in a normal state, having the aircraft piloted by a nominal crew; using detection means to detect the occurrence of an emergency situation and, when the occurrence of the emergency is detected: making the ground pilot (207) operational, so that the ground pilot can produce an aircraft ground piloting set-point; transmitting the ground piloting setpoint to the aircraft; using the alternative piloting system to acquire and transmit the ground piloting setpoint to the aircraft flight control system.

Remote control methods and systems

A device includes a transceiver, a receiver, and a processor. The transceiver is configured to receive feedback data from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and transmit control data to the UAV via a first communication link. The receiver is configured to receive the control data from a controlling terminal via a second communication link. The second communication link does not interfere with the first communication link. The processor is configured to determine whether the feedback data and the control data are being simultaneously transmitted via the first communication link.

Systems for policing and managing the operation of so-called unmanned vehicles are presented which allow for the takeover of the unmanned vehicle in the event of the detection of possible or actual ill-intentioned or inappropriate use of, malfunction or usurpation of the vehicle. Embodiments of the invention include dual-control unmanned vehicles which allow both pilot and police control of the vehicle, with the police having priority.

EMERGENCY CONTROL OF AN AIRCRAFT

An aircraft emergency control system comprises at least one sensor configured to output an electronic signal relating to detection of incapacitation of at least one aircraft crew member. A processor is configured to receive and process the electronic signal to determine whether emergency action is to be taken. A control unit is configured to communicate, in use, a control signal to an avionics system of the aircraft in relation to the emergency action if the processor determines that emergency action is to be taken.

A method for policing and managing the operation of a flying, unmanned aircraft in the event of usurpation of control of, malfunction of, or ill-intentioned use of, this aircraft includes the steps of (a) detecting inappropriate operation of the aircraft; (b) transmitting a takeover command to the aircraft to interrupt control of the operation of this aircraft by a first pilot and relinquish control of the aircraft to a second pilot; and (c) transmitting control commands to the aircraft to control its operation by the second pilot, until the need for alternate pilot control of the aircraft has ended or until the aircraft has landed safely.

Emergency control of an aircraft

An aircraft emergency control system comprises at least one sensor (104A, 104B, 104C) configured to output an electronic signal relating to detection of incapacitation of at least one aircraft crew member. A processor (108) is configured to receive and process the electronic signal to determine whether emergency action is to be taken. A control unit (114) is configured to communicate, in use, a control signal to an avionics system (116) of the aircraft (100) in relation to the emergency action if the processor determines that emergency action is to be taken.

A monitoring terminal includes a transceiver, a receiver, and a processor. The transceiver provides a two-way communication with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) via a first communication link and is configured to receive feedback data and a feedback data indication from the UAV and transmit control data to the UAV. The receiver is configured to receive the control data and a control data indication from a controlling terminal via a second communication link. The second communication link does not interfere with the first communication link. The processor is configured to determine whether the feedback data and the control data are being simultaneously transmitted via the first communication link based on the feedback data indication and the control data indication.

Remote control methods and systems

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) includes a first communication module, a second communication module, and one or more processors. The first communication module is configured to directly receive control data from a controlling terminal via a first communication link and the control data is used to control operations of the UAV. The second communication module is configured to transmit feedback data to a monitoring terminal via a second communication link. The monitoring terminal is located remotely from the UAV. The one or more processors are, individually or collectively, configured to terminate and reactivate the first wireless communication link based on one or more predetermined criteria.
