Process for separating package blister from cards for recycling
10479580 · 2019-11-19 · ·

A method for separating a package blister from the cards which retain it to promote recycling of the component parts of a package. A thermoformed thermoplastic blister has a product bubble which extends from a peripheral flange to extend through an opening in a front card. The front card is affixed to a back card so as not to adhere to the blister flange. The blister has a pull feature which is accessible for gripping by a user to engage and remove the blister from the front card and the back card. To separate the blister from the cards a user grips the pull feature and pulls the blister frontwardly, thereby distorting the blister and extracting the blister from the cards, to fully separate the blister from the front card and the back card, permitting the entire package to be recycled.

HEARING AID BATTERY PACKAGING

A battery package includes a card, a cover, a tray, and batteries. The cover is attached to the card and includes a door and an opening formed in the front of the cover and the peripheral edge of the cover. The door is movable between an open position to provide access to the opening and a closed position. The tray is positioned between the card and the cover and includes multiple receptacles. Each battery is positioned within one of the receptacles. The card includes a recess in the outer edge of the card at a battery removal position. The tray is movable relative to the card and the cover to selectively align one of the receptacles with the opening in the battery removal position. With the door in the open position, the battery in the receptacle in the battery removal position is accessible through the opening.

Rigid Holding Container With Breachable Perimeter Bubble

A rigid holding container has a flexible cover sheet extending over the holding area for sealing the contents. The container has a wide, flat perimeter lip which provides a firm base for the seal between the cover sheet and the container. A breaching bubble is formed in the seal, under the cover and over the perimeter lip. The consumer breaches the bubble by pressing the bubble against the lip between the thumb and forefinger. The pressure compresses the air in the bubble causing the bubble to expand laterally. The expanding bubble breaches along the perimeter of the lip, producing a peel flap of flexible cover material. The consumer pulls the peel flap while holding the rigid container down, to remove the cover sheet.

A battery package includes a card and multiple battery packs. Each battery pack includes a cover attached to a portion of the card, and a tray positioned between the portion of the card and the cover. The cover includes an opening and a door. The door is movable between an open position and a closed position. The tray includes multiple receptacles. Each battery pack further includes multiple batteries and multiple tabs. Each battery is positioned within one of the receptacles. Each tab is removably attached to one of the batteries. The tray is rotatable relative to the portion of the card and the cover to selectively align one of the receptacles with the opening in a battery removal position. With the door in the open position, the tab attached to the battery in the receptacle in the battery removal position is accessible through the opening.

A package includes an outer sleeve and a slider for holding a blister pack slidably mounted within the outer sleeve. The outer sleeve has a locking edge. The slider has a locking flap extending in a direction away from the closed end of the outer sleeve for engagement with the wall of the outer sleeve. The flap has a free edge which provides a pair of locking edges for engagement with the locking edge of the outer sleeve wall. The outer sleeve has a release button which may be pressed to deflect the slider flap away from the wall of the outer sleeve and enable the free edge of the slider flap to slide past the locking edge to allow the slider to be withdrawn from the outer sleeve.

A blister packaging comprises a thermoformed web (30) with cavities (10) for a product formed therein, comprising at least two co-extruded layers: a main layer (34) comprising HDPE and up to 2% of a first additive, and a sealing layer (36) comprising HDPE and at most 50% of LLDPE, and a flat lid (20), comprising at least three co-extruded layers: an outer HDPE layer (22) containing up to 5% of a second additive, an intermediate HDPE layer (24) comprising a third additive suitable to decrease elongation at break, and an inner sealing layer (26), wherein the thermoformed web (30) and the flat lid (20) are heat-sealed together. The invention further relates to a packaged pharmaceutical or nutritional product comprising a comprising such a blister packaging, and a pharmaceutical or nutritional product (40) in solid form contained in the cavities. It further relates to a method for producing such a product.

A carrier for a blister pack includes a first panel having an opening for movably receiving a blister of the blister pack, and a second panel having one or more dispensing openings aligned with the first panel opening. The first panel and the second panel slidably receive the blister pack there between. The carrier includes a blocking tab between the first and second panels that is selectively moveable between a blocking position and a dispensing position. When the blocking tab is in its blocking position it prevents movement of the blister in the first panel opening into alignment with a dispensing opening, thereby preventing dispensing of the blister's contents through the dispensing opening. When the blocking tab is in the dispensing position, it permits the blister to be moved into alignment with a dispensing opening for dispensing the blister's contents. The blocking tab is connected to a free edge of one of the first and second panels about a fold line, and one of the first and second panels of the blister pack carrier is connected to a panel of a slider.
