Lid-to-Container Locking Combinations and Methods
20170320638 · 2017-11-09 ·

A lid-to-container locking combination maximizes lid-to-container retention and includes a container and a container lid. The container includes an upper container rim and a container wall. The container wall includes a radially outwardly extending indentation or groove located in inferior adjacency to the upper container rim at an inner surface thereof. The container lid includes a rim-receiving groove, a lid wall, and a wall-to-groove resilient portion. The resilient portion traverses a structural distance between the lid wall and the rim-receiving groove and is resiliently actuable intermediate a relaxed configuration and an actuated configuration. The resilient portion includes a radially outer indentation-engaging portion. The rim-receiving groove receives the upper container rim, and the indentation-engaging portion engages the radially outwardly extending indentation when in the actuated configuration. The rim-receiving groove and radially outer the indentation-engaging portion together lock the container lid to the liquid container for cooperatively maximizing lid-to-container retention.

A paper lid for a container includes a body portion, a top lid portion having an outer periphery surrounded by the body portion, and an engaging portion in the body portion that includes a tapered portion tapering in the same direction as the container taper and engages with the container curl portion. The body portion has a first end portion for mounting on the container and an opposite second end portion. The outer periphery is bent toward the first end portion, and has a bent portion bonded to the body portion. A part other than the outer periphery is between the engaging portion and the second end portion. An inner diameter of a tip of the tapered portion is smaller than an outer diameter of the container curl portion. Where the lid closes the container opening, the container curl portion contacts an inner part of the tapered portion.

A reusable vessel comprises a first compartment to store therein a substance and a second compartment separated from the first compartment by a boundary element comprising a wall or membrane having one or more apertures therein. A valve is movable between a closed position, in which the valve seals the one or more apertures, and an open position allowing the substance to be released from the first compartment into the second compartment, or a substance in the second compartment to mix with the substance in the first compartment. A triggering mechanism is coupled to the valve to move the valve between the open and closed positions. The triggering mechanism comprises one or more external elements coupled to one or more internal cam elements to control the valve, which, when triggered causes the one or more external elements to exhibit a visible change to indicate the open and closed positions of the valve.

BOWL AND LID SET

A bowl and lid set includes a lid member that has a top lid wall and a first surrounding wall extending downwardly from the top lid wall, and a bowl member that includes a bottom wall and a side wall extending upwardly from a periphery of the bottom wall. The side wall has an upper engaging portion that is made of an elastic material and that is deformable from a non-deformed state, where the bowl member is disengaged from the lid member and where a minimum inner diameter of the upper engaging portion is smaller than a maximum outer diameter of the first surrounding wall of the lid member, to a deformed state, where the upper engaging portion is resiliently stretched for tightly encircling the first surrounding wall.
