System for Connecting Containers
A system for connecting adjacent waste or recycling containers to each other is disclosed. The system includes a bracket and at least one locking member associated with the containers. The bracket is slidable in a first direction to slidably engage the at least one locking member until the bracket reaches a locking position. In the locking position, contact between co-operating surfaces of the at least one locking member and the bracket prevents movement of the bracket in at least a second direction opposite the first direction. A bracket and a locking member for use in a system for connecting two adjacent waste or recycling containers is also disclosed.
SMART WASTE RECEPTACLE PROVIDING USE-INCENTIVE
A receptacle is disclosed for containing waste. The waste receptacle may have a container with at least one opening, and a sensor configured to generate a signal indicative of rubbish being deposited through the at least one opening. The waste receptacle may also have a public-use device operatively connected to the container, and a controller in communication with the sensor and the public-use device. The controller may be configured to selectively provide access to the public-use device based on the signal.
REFUSE BIN ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A REFUSE BIN AND AN ORGANIC WASTE RECEPTACLE, AND A METHOD OF RETROFITTING A REFUSE BIN
A refuse bin assembly includes a refuse bin including a base, walls extending upward from the base, an interior compartment defined by the base and the walls, a mouth at an upper portion of the walls that is in communication with the interior compartment, and a lid hingedly coupled to a rear sidewall of the sidewalls. The refuse bin assembly also includes an organic waste receptacle in the interior of the refuse bin.
WASTE SORTING APPARATUS AND METHOD
Provided is a waste sorting apparatus having a receiving compartment for receiving at least one object disposed by a user, an object detection system associated with the receiving compartment and configured to classify the at least one object in one of a plurality of predetermined types of object, and a sorting system configured for selectively directing the at least one object to a respective one of a plurality of collecting receptacles based on the classification of the at least one object. The object detection system identifies a location of the at least one object in the receiving compartment. The sorting system has holding devices for holding one or more of the at least one object in the receiving compartment when selectively directing one or more other of the at least one object to a respective collecting receptacle, in case multiple objects of different types are detected in the receiving compartment.
MODULAR WASTE CONTAINERS
A modular waste disposal or recycling container and modular container system are disclosed. The container includes a base and one or more sidewalls extending upwardly from the base. The base and the one or more sidewalls together define an interior space for receiving waste or recyclables. A sidewall of the one or more sidewalls comprises one or more sockets, and each of the one or more sockets is capable of removably receiving a respective one of a magnet, a ferromagnetic insert and a plug with a cap that covers the socket. The modular container system includes at least two containers, one having magnetic properties on a first sidewall and the other having ferromagnetic properties on a second sidewall. When placed adjacent to each other, the first and second sidewalls releasably adhere to each other.
Dual recyclables and non-recyclable waste collection device and method therefor
A device for commercial waste collection has a first container and a second container. A lid covers the first container. A first pair of lifting sleeves is attached to side surfaces of the first container for lifting the first container. A second pair of lifting sleeves is attached to side surfaces of the second container and positioned below the first pair of lifting sleeves. A third pair of lifting sleeves is attached to the side surfaces of the first container and aligned with the second pair of lifting sleeves. The second pair of lifting sleeves and the third pair of lifting sleeves are used together to lift both the first container and the second container together. A latching mechanism is provided for preventing opening of the lid when lifting both the first container and the second container together.

MODULAR CARTRIDGE WASTE COLLECTION SYSTEM
A waste collection system includes a base defining a plurality of bays. A pair of tine openings are defined in the base. A plurality of container bodies are each receivable in one of the plurality of bays, such that the plurality of container bodies would be emptied when the base is inverted.
FOOD WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A system for holding food waste includes a first housing forming a chamber to hold the food waste, the chamber comprising at least a first port, and a second housing comprising at least a second port configured to couple with at least the first port, and a fan to provide airflow into the chamber through at least the second port, the first housing removably coupled with the second housing such that removal of the first housing from the second housing decouples at least the first port from at least the second port.
FOOD WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
An apparatus for providing airflow over food waste includes a first housing coupled with a second housing, the first housing having a chamber to hold food waste, the second housing comprising a fan, the first housing and the second housing being coupled to form one or more input channels for the fan to cause air to flow from the second housing through the first housing into the chamber, and the first housing and the second housing forming one or more output channels for the air to flow from the chamber through the first housing and the second housing and out of a vent of the second housing, wherein none of the one or more input channels intersect with any of the one or more output channels.
