ATTACHMENT SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE

An attachment system includes a lateral member and an attachment interface. The attachment interface is configured to selectively engage with an attachment to facilitate releasably coupling the attachment to a vehicle. The attachment interface includes a first connecting plate coupled to the lateral member proximate a first end of the lateral member and a second connecting plate coupled to the lateral member proximate an opposing second end of the lateral member. Each of the first connecting plate and the second connecting plate includes (i) an upper interface positioned at an upper end thereof and (ii) a lower interface positioned at a lower end thereof. The upper interface of each of the first connecting plate and the second connecting plate defines a first aperture. The lower interface of each of the first connecting plate and the second connecting plate defines a second aperture.

REFUSE COLLECTION VEHICLE HAVING CUSTOMIZED LOAD EDGE

A refuse collection vehicle includes a collection mechanism having a collection hopper which accommodates the collection of refuse by dumping into the collection hopper. A bolt-on load edge bracket is configured to be attached to a portion of the collection mechanism adjacent the collection hopper, is capable of defining an adjustable rear load edge based upon where the attachment is made. By using a separate bolt-on load edge bracket, the rear of the collection vehicle can be tailored to accommodate various load edge heights, and to allow several alternative tipper mechanisms to be the easily attached thereto.

A refuse container or can tipper apparatus is mounted at the passenger side of a refuse collection vehicle having a refuse box with an open upper end. The apparatus includes a pair of lifting arms and a pair of pivot arms which are pivotally connected to a vertically disposed support member which includes a hydraulic cylinder or an electric linear activator for pivotally moving the pair of lifting arms and the pair of pivot arms. The outer ends of the lifting arms and pivot arms have a can or container engagement assembly secured thereto which may be a grip arm assembly or a hook plate assembly. The can engagement assembly is moved into contact with the refuse container and lifts the refuse container to a position above the refuse box and dump the refuse in the refuse container into the refuse box.

The second member is configured to receive a second end of the pin and removably fixedly couple with the second end of the pin. The sleeve extends co-cylindrically with the pin. The grabber arm includes a bushing. The bushing is fixedly coupled with the grabber arm and is pivotally coupled to the pin. The sleeve is positioned within a central bore of the bushing, between the bushing and the pin.

The plurality of fasteners couple the second mounting plate to the first mounting plate by extending through the plurality of first slots and the plurality of second slots.
