Refuse vehicle control system

A refuse vehicle includes a body defining a refuse compartment, a refuse collection arm configured to engage and lift a refuse container, an object detection system configured to provide object detection data relating to locations of objects relative to the refuse vehicle, and a controller. The controller is configured to use the object detection data to determine if the refuse container is present within an aligned zone relative to the refuse vehicle. The aligned zone represents a range of locations in which the refuse collection arm is capable of engaging the refuse container. In response to a determination that the refuse container has been detected by the object detection system but is not within the aligned zone, the controller is configured to provide instructions to an operator that, when performed by the operator, cause the refuse vehicle to move such that the refuse container enters the aligned zone.

Carry can for refuse vehicle

A vehicle system includes a refuse vehicle, a carry can, and an electric energy system. The refuse vehicle includes a chassis, a body assembly coupled to the chassis, and a lift assembly. The body assembly defines a vehicle refuse compartment. The carry can is selectively couplable to the lift assembly. The carry can includes a container defining a container refuse compartment and an articulating collection arm coupled the container. The articulating collection arm has an actuator positioned to facilitate manipulating the articulating collection arm. The electric energy system is at least one of positioned on the refuse vehicle or positioned on the carry can. The electric energy system is configured to facilitate operating the actuator of the articulating collection arm.

REFUSE VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM

A vehicle includes a chassis, a body, a lift assembly coupled to the body, a collection arm assembly coupled to the lift assembly and including a pair of interface members configured to engage an object, an object detection system configured to provide object detection data, and controller. The controller is configured to receive an indication, based on the object detection data, that the object is within an aligned zone relative to the body, determine an initial location of the object relative to the body, move the lift assembly so that the pair of interface members are aligned to engage the object, actuate the collection arm assembly to engage the pair of interface members with the object, and instruct the lift assembly to raise the object relative to the body.

CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A REFUSE VEHICLE

A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, an energy storage device, a body, an electric power take-off system, and a disconnect. The energy storage device is supported by the chassis and is configured to provide electrical power to a prime mover. Activation of the prime mover selectively drives the refuse vehicle. The body is supported by the chassis and defines a receptacle for storing refuse. The electric power take-off system is positioned on the refuse vehicle, and includes a motor that is configured to drive a hydraulic pump to convert electrical power received from the energy storage device into hydraulic power. The disconnect is positioned between the energy storage device and the electric power take-off system and is configured to selectively decouple the electric power take-off system from the energy storage device.

Multi-use garbage truck

A multi-use garbage truck has an ability to not only to front load containers of garbage into a hopper in a refuse collection body, but also an ability to swap out the forks, if not arm connection assemblies, or even entire frame arms, to be replaced with one of a plurality of attachments which connect to at least one, if not both frame arms with attachments for various uses such as snow plow, leaf blower, street sweeper, bucket, grapple, etc. Furthermore, an ability to independently operate the left frame arm relative to the right frame arm can now be provided so that the left frame arm can utilize and perform one function and the right frame arm provide another or at least be independently operable from one another.

BODY TIE-DOWN

A refuse vehicle includes a chassis having a chassis frame member, a refuse collection body having a body frame member, and a battery mounted to the chassis frame member, and a body tie-down assembly. The body tie-down assembly includes a chassis mounting member, a body mounting member, a spring assembly, and a retainer plate. The body mounting member has brackets that define a cavity and retaining slots. The top member of the chassis mounting member may be received within the cavity defined by the brackets. The spring assembly includes a spring, a bolt, and a nut. The retainer plate includes a slot. The bolt further extends through a top member of the chassis mounting member and the slot of the retainer plate and receives the nut. The bolt is received within the retaining slots during removal of the bolt to prohibit the bolt from coming in contact with the battery.

Electronic control system for electric refuse vehicle

A refuse vehicle including a chassis, a body assembly coupled to the chassis, the body assembly defining a refuse compartment, an electric energy system configured to store power and supply power to the refuse vehicle, and a power control system configured to measure one or more electrical attributes of the refuse vehicle and determine a power profile for the refuse vehicle, the power profile describing a length of time the refuse vehicle can continue to operate based on a remaining power of the electrical energy system, and wherein the power control system controls operation of a lift assembly of the refuse vehicle based on the power profile.

REFUSE VEHICLE WITH SOUND MANAGEMENT

A refuse vehicle includes a body coupled at least one of the frame and the chassis, a battery configured to provide electrical power to a first motor, a vehicle body supported by the chassis and defining a receptacle for storing refuse therein, an electric power take-off system coupled to the vehicle body, the electric power take-off system including a second motor configured to convert electrical power received from the battery into hydraulic power, one or more microphones coupled to the body and configured to detect noise, one or more speakers coupled to the body configured to emit noise reducing sounds, and a controller configured to receive data related to the detected noise from the one or more microphones and cause the one or more speakers to emit the noise reducing sounds in response to the data received from the one or more microphones.

REFUSE VEHICLE WITH ELECTRIC POWER TAKE-OFF

A refuse vehicle includes a chassis supporting a plurality of wheels, a battery configured to provide electrical energy to drive at least one of the plurality of wheels, a vehicle body supported by the chassis and defining a receptacle for storing refuse therein, and an electric power take-off module removabley coupled to the vehicle body, wherein the electric power take-off module includes an electric power take-off system including a motor configured to receive electrical energy from the battery and provide power to a hydraulic system in response to receiving the electrical energy from the battery.

Refuse vehicle with spatial awareness

A refuse vehicle comprising a chassis, a body assembly coupled to the chassis, the body assembly defining a refuse compartment, one or more sensors coupled to the body and configured to provide data relating to the presence of an obstacle within an area near the refuse vehicle, a controller configured to receive the data from the one or more sensors, determine, using an obstacle detector and the data, the presence of an obstacle within the area and initiate a control action, wherein the control action includes at least one of controlling the movement of the refuse vehicle, controlling the movement of a lift assembly attached to the body assembly, or generating an alert.
