In some embodiments, a method for operating waste chutes comprises: receiving, using a hardware processor of a waste chute device, an identity associated with a user of the waste chute device; in response to receiving the identity associated with the user, allowing, using the hardware processor, a door of the waste chute device to be opened; determining, using the hardware processor, a number of items and at least one type associated with the items that have been placed in an opening of the waste chute device; determining, using the hardware processor, that the door of the waste chute device has been closed; updating, using the hardware processor, information associated with the user based on the number of items and the at least one type of items that have been placed in the opening of the waste chute device; and providing, using the hardware processor, the user with the updated information.

METHOD OF REQUESTING WASTE COLLECTION SERVICES
20220396424 · 2022-12-15 ·

A method for efficiently and automatically requesting waste collection services through the use of mobile communication devices is disclosed. The method utilizes a fill-level sensor or fill-level sensors attached to dumpsters of various sizes. The fill-level sensor is configured to monitor a dumpster's capacity in terms of waste volume. Whenever the volume reaches a predetermined fill-level set by the generator, an automatic collection request is sent out to at least one hauler capable of carrying out the collection.

Trash container having automated replacement bag dispensing system
11518609 · 2022-12-06 · ·

A trash container having an automated trash bag dispensing system which automatically deploys a replacement trash bag upon removal of a filled bag. A supply of trash bags is fed into the main trash container by a motorized roller assembly. A pair of opposing suction pads are pivotally deployed inward and suction activation attracts the opposing sides of the bag to corresponding suction pads. Retraction of the suction pads functions to expand the bag to an open configuration whereby it is suitably configured to receive trash.

AUTONOMOUS ROBOTIC WASTE COLLECTION SYSTEM
20220380121 · 2022-12-01 ·

Systems and methods for autonomous robotic waste and recycling bin collection, including a plurality of receptacles, having a lid, a fill sensor on the underside of the lid and a collection bin, with a robot engagement mechanism. The fill sensor detects a fill level of the receptacle. The system also has autonomous robots, having a plurality of robot sensors and at least one prong connected to a motor. A bin collection server receives the fill levels from the fill sensors; determines a plurality of full bins; generates a collection instruction and sends the collection instruction to an autonomous robot. The autonomous robot navigates to each bin; inserts at least one prong into the robot engagement mechanism; lifts the collection bin; navigates to the collection facility; and deposits the collection bin in the collection facility.

Heat fusing devices, smart trash receptacle and methods for controlling heat fusing temperature

The present invention discloses a heat fusing device for a smart trash receptacle, including: a heating wire for fusion-cutting and thermally sealing an open end of a trash bag, the heating wire being connected to a heat-fusing circuit; a base having heat-resistant and insulating properties, the base having a first end surface on which the heating wire is arranged; and a control mechanism communicatively coupled to the heat-fusing circuit for control thereof. The present invention also discloses a smart trash receptacle incorporating the heat fusing device and a method for controlling a heat fusing temperature. With the present invention, during automatic bagging by the smart trash receptacle, good contact between the heating wire and the trash bag can be ensured while preventing adhesion of the trash bag. This results in improved sealing quality and enables the fulfillment of two tasks, i.e., thermoplastic sealing and thermal fusion-cutting, in the same action of the heat fusing device. As a result, higher automatic bagging quality and reliability are obtainable at lower bagging control difficulty and reduced bagging cost. Moreover, control in the system is simplified, and the stability and reliability of the system are increased.
