A Cart and a Method for Transport and Storage of Items
A cart for transport and storage of items, including odd-size or over-size luggage of airline passengers, comprises a chassis comprising a plurality of wheels, and a storage section comprising at least one shelf. A drawer is provided below the storage section, the drawer comprising a compartment, which is inaccessible when the drawer is in a closed state, in which the drawer is overlapped by a bottom portion of the storage section. The compartment is accessible when the drawer is in an open state, in which the drawer is extracted from and extends beyond the bottom portion of the storage section.
Sorting system for luggage as well as method for sorting luggage
A sorting system has a sorting area and a controller system that receives luggage-related sorting information for each piece of luggage. A transport mechanism transports the luggage into a sorting area which includes a sorting area with at least one make-up-place connected to the transport mechanism. The make-up-place sorts the luggage according to at least one item of luggage-related sorting information. Movable load devices receive the pieces of luggage sorted by the at least one make-up-place. The controller system assigns each piece of luggage according to at least one luggage-related information to a particular movable load device and the controller system is also adapted to select a make-up-place for each piece of luggage and to send the piece of luggage to the selected make-up-place to be loaded into the assigned movable load device.
DETECTING NON-HANDLEABLE ITEMS
A method and a system for detecting consignments or items which cannot be conveyed by a conveying system cost-effectively detect non-conveyable items for a materials handling system. A conveyor section and a light grid or curtain or comparable measuring assembly are configured and disposed in such a way that a consignment or item can be conveyed on the conveyor section through the light grid or curtain, so that a data structure characterizing the consignment or item can be generated by the light grid or curtain and fed into the detection system. The detection system is adapted to judge whether the consignment or item is conveyable or not based on the data structure.
Reciprocating motion signature monitoring and trend analysis system
A diverter system includes a diverter arm operated by an actuator assembly. The actuator assembly moves the diverter arm between an extended dwell position and a retracted dwell position. The position of the diverter arm is monitored by a sensor. A control system derives a motion signature of the diverter arm based on the positions of the diverter arm measured by the sensor and evaluates the motion signature of the diverter arm to identify an abnormal operation of the diverter arm.
Article sorting system
A system for sorting articles includes a plurality of article supporters attached to an endless chain. At least one diverting point is provided at which the articles may be removed. A plurality of lateral pushers are movable along the article supporter so as to selectively push the articles off the article supporters at the diverting point. A distributing mechanism initiates the movement of the lateral pushers. At least one diversion detection device is configured to identify a presence of each of the article supporters. A controller is configured to determine a slat number of each of the article supporters and to determine whether the article positioned on the article supporter associated with the detected slat number should be removed at the diverting point, and to actuate the distributing mechanism. The at least one diversion detection device is substantially aligned with the actuator in the direction of travel.
BAGGAGE DEPOSIT MACHINE
In order to reduces a risk that a user of a baggage check-in machine is infected with a virus or the like, a baggage check-in machine (1) includes: an inner display (11) that displays an image which includes an operation target region and which is related to baggage check-in; an image formation section (30) that causes the image displayed on the inner display (11) to be formed as an aerial image in air around the baggage check-in machine (1); an operation identification section (102) that identifies an operation conducted with respect to a part in the aerial image which corresponds to the operation target region; and a process performance section (105) that carries out, in accordance with the operation which has been identified, a process related to the baggage check-in.
A METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR IDENTIFYING ANOMALIES DURING OPERATION OF A CONVEYOR SYSTEM, IN PARTICULAR OF AN AIRPORT LUGGAGE CAROUSEL
Airport luggage carousels are usually operated in a run-to-failure approach that necessarily leads to failures. Anomalies are detected during operation of a conveyor system having a revolving drive chain, a drive unit and a conveyor belt. The drive chain serves to transmit force and motion from a drive unit to a conveyor belt, and has chain elements and pins connecting them. At least one of the pins is a force measurement pin that registers the forces acting thereon during movement of the drive chain. The registered forces are transmitted wirelessly to the background system together with a timestamp and/or a location stamp and an identity of the force measurement pin. The transmitted data are analyzed in the background system and, in the event of deviations, identified as an anomaly and signaled by a notification. The measurement results are evaluated to derive maintenance measures in a targeted manner.
Animated monitor and control for automated baggage handling system and related methods
A system may include a plurality of continuous conveyors configured for moving objects throughout a facility, and a plurality of sensors positioned at different locations within the facility for collecting telemetry data associated with the travel of the objects along the conveyors. The system may also include a computing device configured to store the telemetry data from the sensors in a database, generate an animation of the conveyors and the objects traveling along the conveyors within the facility based upon the telemetry data stored in the database, and play the animation on a display via a graphical user interface (GUI).
TRANSPORT SYSTEM AND TRANSPORT METHOD
A transport system is a transport system that transports a luggage using a transport vehicle and a transport robot. In a state in which the transport robot and the transport vehicle are connected, the transport robot takes out the luggage from the transport vehicle, or stores the luggage in the transport vehicle.
LUGGAGE LOADING SYSTEM
A system for loading articles into a container is provided, comprising a platform unit and an elevator unit configured to adjust its elevation relative to the container and a platform unit comprising an opening facing the container and defining an edge of the platform unit, a transfer arrangement comprising a plurality of parallel independent transfer members defining a receiving surface and extending along a loading direction transverse to the edge and configured to move of the others, and a positioning arrangement to orient the article to a loading orientation on the receiving surface and position it at a predetermined loading position along an axis perpendicular to the loading direction. The transfer arrangement is configured to extend a subset of the transfer members in the loading direction through the opening, thereby facilitating placement of the article at a predetermined location within the container.
