A meter module for metering a product in communication with the meter module. The meter module includes a meter housing portion and a lower chamber portion, the meter housing portion having a top opening through which the product enters the meter housing portion. A metering mechanism is disposed in the meter housing portion and is rotatably driven by an electric motor about a longitudinal axis. As the metering mechanism rotates about the longitudinal axis, the metering mechanism meters the product into the lower chamber portion, the metered product exits the lower chamber portion through a bottom opening in the lower chamber portion. The lower chamber portion may include a flow sensor and/or internal structure to capture and weigh the metered product before exiting through the bottom.

There is provided a powder feeder (10, 10′) comprising a main chamber (12, 12′) with a gas inlet (14, 14′) and a powder outlet (16), at least one secondary chamber (20, 20′) configured to receive powder and a shaver element (22, 40, 50), wherein the shaver element (22, 40, 50) is positioned directly above an opening (26, 26′) in the at least one secondary chamber (20, 20′). The secondary chamber (20, 20′) further comprises a piston (28, 28′) movable towards the shaver element (22, 40, 50) so as to urge powder upwards. Examples of a shaver element include a rotatable screw (22), a conveyor belt (40) and a rotating disc (50) with protrusions (54).

The invention relates to a system and a method for feeding comminuted cellulosic material from a low-pressure zone (P.sub.L) to a high-pressure zone (P.sub.E) with at least 1 bar higher pressure. The invention uses a screw 7 feeder having a feeding screw (1) arranged in a feeding pipe (2). Back blow pulses from the high-pressure zone that may blow 7 backwards from the high-pressure zone (P.sub.E) can be ventilated (Vent.sup.II) in an intermediate part (P.sub.c) of the feeding pipe (2), and thus not reach the low 7-pressure zone.
