Adjustable web handling mechanism
A web handling apparatus is disclosed. The web handling apparatus includes a first web guide to engage a print medium, a second web guide to engage the print medium to adjust a contact area between the first web guide and the print medium upon moving between a plurality of points on a guide path and a third web guide to engage the print medium to form a web path with the first web guide.
Ultrasonic packaging material flaw detection with time-limited response detection
A method, apparatus and program product may evaluate a packaging material to determine various metrics associated with the packaging material. A test apparatus may be used to evaluate packaging material using a take up drum capable of sensing containment force imparted upon the drum by packaging material applied thereto, and in some instances, simulated flaws may be formed in a web of packaging material to evaluate a packaging materials response to such flaws when under tension.
SHEET FEEDING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCORPORATING THE SHEET FEEDING DEVICE
A sheet feeding device includes a sensor, a roller, and a support on which the sensor and the roller are disposed. The support supports the sensor and the roller so that the sensor and the roller contact a surface of the sheet roll. The sensor and the roller face toward an axial center of the sheet roll. The roller is spaced apart from the sensor in a circumferential direction of the sheet roll. The sensor has a detection accuracy capable of detecting a step at a leading end of the sheet roll.
UNIT AND METHOD FOR APPLYING OPENING DEVICES TO A WEB OF PACKAGING MATERIAL
A unit for applying opening devices to a web of packaging material at predetermined areas of the web arranged at a non-zero distance from one another along the web; the unit comprises a feeding group configured for feeding the web along an advancing path; at least one first tool, arranged at a first desired position along the path and configured to apply a first opening device to a corresponding first predetermined area arranged at the first desired position; and at least one second tool, arranged at a second desired position along the path and configured to apply a second opening device to a corresponding second predetermined area arranged at the second desired position; and a buffer portion arranged along the path, downstream of the second tool and upstream of the first tool, and configured to include and/or accumulate a web portion having a number of predetermined areas which is an integer multiple of the number of tools of the unit.
CROSS WEB TENSION MEASUREMENT AND CONTROL
The present disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for transporting a web through a web processing apparatus. In one aspect, a web tension adjustment unit for guiding a web. The web tension adjustment unit includes a first guide roller. The first guide roller includes an adjustment unit. The web tension adjustment unit further includes one or more first non-contact sensors positioned to measure displacement data of the web at a first location. The web tension adjustment unit further includes a system controller for controlling the adjustment unit based on the measured displacement data.
REEL-TO-REEL SURFACE PRESS APPARATUS
Disclosed in a reel-to-reel surface press apparatus. The reel-to-reel surface press apparatus includes an uncoiler and a recoiler, both transferring a component in a reel-to-reel method, a press disposed between the uncoiler and the recoiler, comprising a press plate pressing the component, and having a plurality of reference holes at an equal pitch along an edge of the press plate, a feeder disposed at the rear of the uncoiler and moving the component, and a controller configured to control the component to be transferred based on at least any one of the plurality of reference holes.
Processing system and control method for handling continuous sheet of material
A web processing system which includes two rollers configured to rotate at the same phase while being in contact with a web which continuously exists along a movement passage and a suppressing mechanism for suppressing a tension variation of the web between the two rollers.
Splicing Method and Unit for Splicing Two Packaging Films for a Horizontal Packaging Machine
Splicing method and unit for a packaging machine, whereby a first film is spliced to a second film which is a spare film. The splicing is performed by means of an adhesive element with two opposing adhesive surfaces, one for each film, and a longitudinal adhering element. First an adhesive surface is adhered to the adhering element and said adhering element moves so that the other adhesive surface comes into contact with the second film and adheres to it. Then the adhering element is separated from said second film, the adhesive element being adhered to said second film, and the first film is caused to come into contact with said adhesive element already adhered to the second film.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A WEB IN A PRINTING APPARATUS
A method is provided for controlling a web in a printing apparatus The printing apparatus includes a transport assembly for moving the web through a transport path along a printing unit for printing an image onto a print area of the web. The method includes feeding the web from a supply roll through the transport path to the transport assembly; and switching the printing apparatus to a ready-to-print mode, wherein the printing unit does not print an image on the web and the web is maintained ready to be printed on. In a printing mode after the ready-to print mode, the following steps are performed: moving the web through the transport path in a transport direction along the printing unit by the transport assembly; and printing the image onto the print area of the web by the printing unit. The image is printed by applying an image material, which solidifies on the web during the printing step. The ready-to-print mode includes the step of: operating the transport assembly to prevent a deformation of the print area of the web in the transport path, while maintaining the web in the ready-to-print mode. The web is maintained ready to print while preventing a deformation of the print area of the web in the transport path.
PRINTER AND TRANSPORT APPARATUS
A pinion gear is coaxially attached to vicinity of an end of an inner bar. The pinion gear is engaged with a rack gear and rotates in response to upward and downward movements of the tension bar. When the pinion rotates, the inner bar correspondingly rotates. The inner bar and an outer bar, which is a tension applying bar, are connected to each other so as to freely rotate. When the pinion rotates, the inner bar correspondingly rotates, while the outer bar remains unrotated.
