TENSION BRAKE
20230090904 · 2023-03-23 ·

A tension brake assembly includes a frame, a plurality of brake pad assemblies, and a hub configured to be coupled to a rotating component. The hub includes a plurality of drive pins adjacent an annular wall. A rotor engages the plurality of drive pins such that rotation of the hub causes rotation of the rotor while permitting axial movement relative to the annular wall. The rotor has friction surfaces for engagement with the brake pad assemblies. An actuator is provided. Movement of the actuator in a first direction moves the friction components together in the axial direction to increase friction exerted by the tension brake assembly. Movement of the actuator in a second direction moves the friction components away from one another in the axial direction to decrease friction exerted by the tension brake assembly.

Brake adjusting device of cable reel

A brake adjusting device is mountable to a frame and a rotary disc of a cable reel and includes a rotary knob mounted to an outside surface of the frame. A first pad is arranged between the frame and the rotary disc and is coupled to the rotary knob for synchronous rotation therewith and includes pushing parts in the form of slope. A second pad is arranged between the first pad and the rotary disc and is provided, on two opposite surfaces thereof, with first and second slope sections and friction plates. The rotary knob is operable to rotate the first pad for causing the pushing parts to press against first and second slope sections in order to move the second pad toward the rotary disc and causing the friction plates to get into tight engagement with the rotary disc to result in a braking effect.

LOCKING CARGO RESTRAINT WITH MULTIPLE RETRACTING CABLES
20230073654 · 2023-03-09 ·

A locking cargo restraint with multiple retracting cables is provided for securing cargo to a base, surface, or object. The locking cargo restraint is generally composed of a housing, retractable cables, and spools. The cables may be spooled within the housing to take up slack for storage of the device or to provide tension when cargo is being secured. The spools are spring biased to assist the user in pulling the cables into the housing. The cables are independently operable, allowing the operator to secure symmetrical or irregularly shaped objects. The locking cargo restraint also features a mode selection knob that can effectuate different modes of operation of the device such that the cables may be extended from the housing, retracted into the housing, or tightened about cargo. Further, the device includes a lock mechanism that, when engaged, limits the operation of the mode selection knob.

Installation trailer for coiled flexible pipe and method of utilizing same

A system includes a collapsible trailer frame and a lifting mechanism coupled to the collapsible trailer frame. The lifting mechanism is configured to raise or lower a coil of pipe or a reel of pipe. The system also includes a braking mechanism.

METHOD OF INSTALLING CABLE ON CABLE REEL

A method of installing a coil of cable in a bag, that includes the steps of placing a coil of cable on a first hub of a first flange of the cable reel; placing a second flange of the cable reel, that is separable from the first flange, opposite from the first flange to hold the coil of cable on the first hub of the first flange; positioning the first flange on or next to a first support frame received in the bag; and placing the second flange on or next to a second support frame received in the bag. The second support frame is positioned in the bag such that the first flange, the coil of cable and the second flange are located between the first support frame and the second support frame.
