Pulley with secure opening
11390501 · 2022-07-19 · ·

The pulley comprises a securing head and a first flange. A first shaft extends from the first flange. A second flange and a sheave are mounted rotatable around the first shaft with respect to the first flange. A rod is fixed to the first flange and mounted movable between a first position and a second position with a first movement. In the first position, the rod engages with the second flange to keep the second flange in the first position. In the second position, the rod allows rotation of the second flange. A blanking plate is fixed on the second flange and mounted movable between a first position and a second position with a second movement different from the first movement. The blanking plate partially covers the rod to prevent movement of the rod from the first position to the second position.

Snatch Block with Slide-Open Spring-Biased Cheek, Dual-Plunger Lock Release, and Integral Swivel Stud
20220250885 · 2022-08-11 ·

A snatch block has a stationary first cheek and a movable second cheek that is slidable in its respective plane relative to the stationary first cheek. In a closed position, the second cheek connects with a crown jutting from the first cheek, thereby closing off a swallow of the snatch block. In an open position, an access gap opens into the swallow between the movable second cheek and the crown, thus enabling loading of a rope into the swallow. A locking mechanism with slide latches or rocker arms normally locks the second cheek in the closed position, and requires simultaneous actuation of two discretely separate releases to unlock the second cheek. The second cheek is biased into the open position, providing overt visual indication of any failed latching attempt. A seamlessly integral stud protrudes from the crown to rotatably support a swivel eye thereon.

A rescue device includes a pulley includes a support flange with two rotation shafts mounted salient and extending in a first direction. Two sheaves are mounted rotatable around two rotation shafts to define a running line of a cable. Two flanges are mounted rotatable between a first position and a second position. A first blocker is configured to present a first position blocking the first flange in the closed position and a second position allowing rotation of the first flange. A second blocker is configured to present a first position blocking the second flange in the closed position and a second position allowing rotation of the second flange. The second blocker is independent from the first blocker.

An apparatus for use in rigging stages includes a portable bar sized to extend across standard widths of a tower or a cross beam with a portion extending beyond the side of the tower or beam. A lifting mechanism, such as a block-and-tackle, is attached to the portion to allow a rigger to raise or lower heavy objects. In a method of use, a rigger carries the lifting bar to a desired location on a tower or beam and secures at least one end of the portable bar to one or more cross bars. Then the rigger can raise or lower heavy objects by attaching a flexible line from the lifting mechanism to the object and manipulating the lifting mechanism to assist in moving the heavy object to a desired location.
