Method of filtering water being returned to a swimming pool
11554333 · 2023-01-17 ·

A liquid filtering device that works in conjunction with an existing filtration system to provide, for example, cleaner water in a swimming pool.

Water-softening system

A water-softening system includes a filter device including filter units that are provided in at least some of a plurality of supply channels arranged in parallel to supply raw water to a consumption site and that remove at least part of ionic matter contained in supplied raw water by electro-deionization and discharge soft water containing less ionic matter than the raw water, a plurality of supply valves provided in the plurality of supply channels to open or close the supply channels, and a processor connected to the filter device and the plurality of supply valves. The processor determines whether water is supplied to the consumption site and controls at least one of the plurality of supply valves to remain open to maintain a state in which water is allowed to be supplied to the consumption site, when it is determined that no water is supplied to the consumption site.

High bulk coalescing filter media and use thereof

A coalescence filter for purifying a fluid which contains a carrier and at least one liquid contaminant by coalescing of the at least one contaminant, where the coalescence filter includes an inlet for supplying the fluid to a filter element present in the coalescence filter, where the filter element includes a primary coalescence medium which is provided for coalescing of the at least one contaminant in the primary coalescence medium during the displacement of the fluid through the primary coalescence medium. The coalescence filter further includes an outlet for discharging the coalesced contaminant from the filter element, where the primary coalescence medium comprises at least one layer of a porous material, where the primary coalescence medium has a total thickness of at least 3.5 mm.

FREE-FLOWING WATERPROOFING SYSTEM

A water management system provides much improved waterproofing drainage system particularly, but not limited to foundations, new or existing. The includes a form, clean washed stone, soil separating filter cloth, backfilling soil, and drainage pipe to drain out all water away from the structure. This system is easily installed and creates an even “wall” of gravel around structural walls minimizing the costs of materials making it very cost-effective. This system removes all hydrostatic pressure from structural walls eliminating the cause of water infiltration to the interior of basement walls. Water infiltration in basement walls results in mold, mildew, high humidity, and poor air quality.

Device for hydroxyl-radical-based water disinfection and purification and method of use

The device provided relates to the field of water purification and disinfection. The device for water purification works by exposing water to an hydroxyl radicals and includes a corona discharge reactor, an ejector, at least one solenoid valve, control electronics, a mixing chamber. Inside the reactor there is a group of pin discharge electrodes, an earthen solid electrode, a chamber of saturated vapors of treated water, and the reactor is interfaced to the ejector. The device allows to obtain at the output of the device water with a high degree of purification, as from biological pollution, as well as to get rid of many undesirable chemical compounds present in the source water by their oxidation to safe products.

WATER FILTER ASSEMBLY AND REFRIGERATION APPLIANCE EQUIPPED THEREWITH
20180008917 · 2018-01-11 ·

A water filter assembly for a refrigeration appliance contains an inlet connection, a filter head, on which a water filter can be mounted, a non-return valve and an outlet connection. The non-return valve is connected to the water filter by way of a hose. The hose can be attached to a connection of the filter head which is already available to feed or drain water, without adjustments to the filter head being required for this purpose.

Rag seeding in wastewater treatment systems
11707704 · 2023-07-25 · ·

In a wastewater treatment plant a rag seeding tank is included in a process drain to collect hair and fibers which have passed through headworks of the plant. The hair and fibers tend to join together into large masses downstream of the headworks and can be damaging to process zones, particularly membrane zones. The rag seeding tank includes cartridges filled with surfaces that fibers and hair will attach to, so that hair/fiber rags grow in the seeding tank and are removed therefrom rather than causing problems downstream.

Aquarium System

An aquarium filtering and purifying system includes an upper display tank and a lower filter tank. The water from the upper tank can be delivered to the lower tank to a filter, such as within a surrounding filter fabric or membrane, such as a filter sock. An air tube can also be inserted into the filter tank to an unfiltered side of the filter, such as within the filter sock, to deliver air bubbles into the filter tank. The air tube can have an air stone at the end thereof to diffuse the air bubbles. Further air stones can be provided on an outside of the sock in the first compartment. Filtered water is delivered to a second compartment in the filter tank. The next compartment can have sand, and/or rocks and/or algae and/or a clean-up crew to assist in purifying the water. Water from the second compartment then passes to a third compartment, through a bubble trap, and then is pumped back to the display tank. Alternatively, the first compartment can be provided with a macro algae bed instead of a filter sock.

CROSSLINKED STARCH DERIVATIVE-BASED MATRIX
20230233686 · 2023-07-27 ·

The invention relates to a water insoluble solid crosslinked dextrin-based matrix, wherein the crosslinking agent is sodium trimetaphosphate (STMP), its use and method of preparation.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REMOVING A CHEMICAL SUBSTANCE FROM HUMAN EXCRETA
20230233040 · 2023-07-27 ·

The invention relates to a method for removing a chemical substance from human excreta, such as faeces and urine, comprising the following steps of: providing a toilet for a person from whose excreta the chemical substance must be removed; releasably connecting a filtering device to the toilet, wherein the filtering device comprises at least one removable cartridge with a filter; transporting the excreta by means of a transport screw from the toilet toward the filter in the cartridge, wherein pressure is exerted on the excreta by means of a plunger; filtering the chemical substance out of the excreta in situ using the filtering device; periodically replacing the at least one cartridge; and processing the replaced cartridge. The invention also relates to a filtering device for application in this method, and a cartridge for use in such a filtering device.
