The process involves contacting the mining waste water with an emulsion of a nano scale compound comprising iron, magnesium, or both. MANAGED ECOSYSTEM UTILIZING PRODUCED WATER FROM OIL AND/OR GAS RECOVERY OPERATIONS AND METHOD FOR SEQUESTERING CARBON DIOXIDE USING SAME
Managed ecosystems, methods for producing managed ecosystems and methods for using managed ecosystems for sequestering carbon dioxide are described herein. Produced water is obtained and purified to sustain a managed ecosystem with saline-tolerant vegetation. The managed ecosystem biologically sequesters carbon dioxide by photosynthetically absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and by decomposition into a layer of sediment on the ecosystem floor.
Plasma treatment system with multiple horizontal channels
A system using electrical discharge plasma (EDP) for treating a liquid, such as water or waste water to degrade or destroy polar contaminants such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) compounds, the system includes a sealed process tank and multiple submerged EDP channels stacked horizontally. Each EDP channel consists of a cathode and an anode, a gas hood, and a gas diffuser. The basic submerged EDP channel is bounded by a plate at the bottom and a submerged gas hood at the top which creates a gas headspace, and hence, a local water surface to provide a local gas/liquid interface in each channel. The cathode lies above the local water surface and anode lies below the local water surface. Each EDP channel may have a gas diffuser at the bottom of the EDP channel for introducing a process gas into the liquid creating bubbles that carry contaminants in the liquid to the local gas/liquid interface. An electrical discharge arcs between the cathode and the anode to generate a plasma used for destruction of contaminants in the water or wastewater at the local gas/liquid interface.

Systems and methods of producing compositions from the nutrients recovered from waste streams
According to present disclosure, there is disclosed an algae growth and cultivation system that provides a cost-efficient means of producing algae biomass as feedstock for algae-based products, such as, fertilizer, feed, biofuel manufacture, and desirably impacts, nutrient recovery from waste streams for valued byproducts production, recycle water, and alternative/renewable energy production. The system as discussed herein is an integrated systems approach to wastewater treatment, algal strains selection for byproducts production, and recycle of algal biomass-processing waste or additional algae harvested as feedstock for products such as fertilizer production. Embodiments of a system as discussed herein present an economically viable algae production system and process that allows algae-derived products such as fertilizer, feed, biofuels, etc. to compete with non-organic or petroleum products in the marketplace.

Bubble generator
A bubble generator including a container having a side wall and a top wall defining a cavity. An insert is located within the cavity defining a gas path with a trap portion. The gas path being in communication with an exit in the container. The cavity including an opening receiving a gas accumulating within the cavity, the gas path allowing the accumulating gas to escape through the exit once the accumulating gas reaches a predetermined level proximate the trap portion.

Granular litter cleaning apparatus and process
A granular litter cleaning apparatus comprises a separation system having a separation tank adapted to receive a mixture of granules and plastic litter, and water therein, the separation tank having a top opening, and a closeable bottom outlet, and at least one water inlet for feeding water to the separation tank. A collect subsystem is for conveying a mixture of granules and plastic litter to the separation tank. A pump system is in fluid communication with the water inlet. The pump system is operated to raise a level of water in the separation tank to skim water with plastic litter out through the top opening of the separation tank. The closeable bottom outlet is openable to empty the separation tank from granules decanted in a bottom of the separation tank. A process for separating plastic litter from granules is also provided.
