METHOD FOR REDUCING CORROSION FATIGUE OF EVAPORATING TUBE IN BOILER
The purpose of the present invention is to effectively reduce the corrosion fatigue of an evaporating tube in a boiler which occurs in association with a corrosive environment or repeated application of stress due to the presence of scales. A method for reducing the corrosion fatigue of an evaporating tube in a boiler, in which each of the concentration of chloride ions and the concentration of sulfate ions in the boiler water is managed at 10 mg/L or less. It is preferred to manage each of the concentration of chloride ions and the concentration of sulfate ions in boiler water by subjecting boiler feed water to a desalination treatment with an ion exchange device, a reverse osmosis membrane device or an electrodeionization device or by increasing the collection rate of boiler condensed water.
DUAL NUCLEATION AND GROWTH INHIBITORS OF MINERAL SCALE
Analogues of citrate, namely hydroxycitrate (HCA) and isocitrate (ICA), have dual roles as nucleation inhibitors and growth suppressors in the formation of mineral scale. Their potency is comparable to commercial phosphorous-based inhibitors, but they are more environmentally friendly, which has practical advantages for use in a broad range of commercial applications.

Polyacrylate polymers for low carbon steel corrosion control
Methods are provided to inhibit corrosion in low hardness water systems. The corrosion inhibiting treatment comprises: calcium salts of low molecular weight polymer polycarboxylic acids. These calcium salts may be added preformed to the water system in need of treatment or formed in-situ in the system. This method of corrosion inhibition is not a source of addition phosphorous or heavy metal to the treated system.

A method for reducing the amount of ferric ion in a produced water, the method including preparing a protectant composition comprising a scale inhibitor; a biochelant; and a solvent; and introducing the composition to a produced water. A method of mitigating the formation of calcium phosphate precipitant, the method including preparing a composition including a biochelant; a soluble phosphorous compound; an antiprecipitation additive; and a solvent; and introducing the composition to a feed water disposed in a fluid conduit.
Cooling water treatment composition for decreasing energy use
Water treatment compositions useful to decrease surface tension of cooling tower waters are provided as are treated cooling tower waters. The compositions increase the transfer of heat from metal surfaces in contact with the treated cooling water. The increased heat transfer can decrease energy use, for example, in water-cooled HVAC and refrigeration compressors, and can enable increased production rates in many industrial processes, including, for example, plastics molding, metal billet production, petroleum refining, power plants, and condensers for steam turbines. Also provided are cooling tower water compositions formulated to control corrosion, scale, and deposition in a cooling tower and in treated cooling tower water.
