Device comprising two supports
A device for supporting a sheet of glass, in a contact band between the edge and up to 200 mm from the edge of the glass, includes first and second supports that each include a chassis and a support system for supporting the glass connected to the chassis, the support system of each support including a surface for supporting the glass including a fibrous material able to contact the glass in the contact band at a temperature between 400 and 600° C., the two supports being movable in a transfer vertical relative movement enabling the support surface of one to pass over or under the support surface of the other in order to transfer the glass from one support to the other, the support system of the first support including a passage to allow to pass an arm connected to the second support during the transfer vertical relative movement.
A GLASS ROLL
A glass roll is provided. The glass roll includes a winding core having a central axis, a self adhesive film wound on the winding core about the central axis, and a glass ribbon wound on the self adhesive film about the central axis and attached onto the self adhesive film. In a cross-section of the glass roll that is parallel to the central axis and along an entire length of the glass roll, cross-sections of the self adhesive film may alternate with cross-sections of the glass ribbon.
A SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR FORMING GLASS ROLLS
A system for forming glass rolls is provided. The system includes a glass ribbon supply system configured to supply a glass ribbon, a cutting system configured to cut the glass ribbon to a first portion and a second portion, a first glass winding system configured to wind the first portion of the glass ribbon to form a first glass roll, and a second glass winding system configured to wind the second portion of the glass ribbon to form a second glass roll.
Microwave Heating Glass Bending Process
Methods and systems are provided for automated shaping of a glass sheet. The methods comprise preheating the glass, bending the glass through selective, and focused beam heating through the use of an ultra-high frequency, high-power electromagnetic wave, and computer implemented processes utilizing thermal and shape (positional) data obtained in real-time, and cooling the glass sheet to produce a glass sheet suitable for use in air and space vehicles.
Method of forming a glass article and the glass article formed thereby
A method of forming a glass article includes providing a first glass sheet. The first glass sheet is heated to a temperature suitable for shaping. The first glass sheet is deposited on a first bending tool. An edge portion of the first glass sheet is disposed over a shaping surface of the first bending tool. The shaping surface of the first bending tool is configured to provide in the first glass sheet a compression area and a tension area. The first glass sheet is shaped on the first bending tool and the compression area is formed in the edge portion of the first glass sheet. The compression area includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion has a width which is greater than a width of a second portion.

Heat resistant separation fabric
The heat resistant separation fabric for use as tool cover in glass processing comprises heat resistant yarns (100). The heat resistant yarns comprise a core (110) and at least one wrap yarn (123, 125). The core is a core yarn. The core yarn is a multifilament glass yarn. The at least one wrap yarns (123, 125) comprises stainless steel fibers. The core yarn is present in the heat resistant yarn without crimp. The at least one wrap yarn is wrapped around the core yarn.
SUBSTRATE TRANSPORTING APPARATUS
A substrate transporting apparatus including a carrier that is configured to support a substrate to be processed. A plurality of holes are disposed within the carrier, each hole extending from a first surface to a second surface of the carrier, the plurality of holes including at least a first hole and a second hole. A first bearing device is disposed in the first hole, the first bearing device including a first shaft, a first head, and an internal opening extending an entire length of the first shaft and the first head. The second hole is either (i) is an open hole without a bearing device disposed therein, or (ii) has a second bearing device disposed therein, the second bearing device including a second shaft and a second head without an internal opening disposed through the second shaft.
Bent glass sheet held during the cooling thereof
A cooling frame for a bent glass sheet, includes a support track for the sheet and a removable bearing piece that is able, in a bearing position and during cooling of the sheet by air blowing, to bear on the top face of the sheet and at the periphery thereof. The bent sheet cooled on the cooling frame maintains contact with the frame during the cooling operation and its shape complies better with that which is desired.
HEAT RESISTANT SEPARATION FABRIC
A heat resistant separation fabric for use as tool covering in the production of glass products at temperatures over 580° C., wherein the heat resistant separation fabric comprises fiber yarns, and wherein said fiber yarns comprise metal fibers out of first material containing: 18 to 21 weight percent Cr, 23 to 26 weight percent Ni, 5.5 to 7 weight percent Mo, and 40 to 50 weight percent Fe.
