A description is given of the use of an additive mixture (A) for combination with a solution or dispersion (B) comprising waterglass, for producing a moulding material mixture for producing articles from the group consisting of foundry moulds and foundry cores; a multi-component binder system comprising (A) an additive mixture and (B) a solution or dispersion comprising waterglass; a moulding material mixture comprising a mould base material (C) and also components (A) and (B) of such a multi-component binder system; a method for producing an article from the group consisting of foundry moulds and foundry cores; articles from the group consisting of foundry moulds and foundry cores; and the use of such an article for metal casting, preferably for light metal casting, more particularly for aluminium casting.
PROCESS TO MAKE A CERAMIC FILTER FOR METAL CASTING
A ceramic foam filter system includes a filter body having multiple tortuous path channels through the filter body to filter a molten liquid. A filter holder configuration defining a canister in a runner passage receives the filter body. An upstream end of the filter body receives the molten liquid having multiple inclusions. A predominant portion of the inclusions are larger than the multiple tortuous path channels and are trapped against the upstream end of the filter body. The multiple tortuous path channels are sized to trap a predominant portion of multiple oxides within the molten liquid as trapped oxides within the filter body. A filtered molten material having the multiple inclusions and the multiple oxides removed is directed from the multiple tortuous path channels as a discharge flow to exit at a downstream end of the filter body.
3D CONCRETE PRINTING WITH FLEXIBLE TAPE
A concrete construction made by 3D concrete printing having two or more layers of cementitious material extruded one above the other, and a reinforcing structure reinforcing the two or more layers. The reinforcing structure has at least two flexible longitudinal elongated steel elements running in lengthwise direction, and one or more flexible transverse steel elements forming an angle with the lengthwise direction so that these flexible transverse steel elements are present in the two or more layers. The structure also has a positioning element for positioning the at least two flexible longitudinal elongated elements and the flexible transverse steel elements, a polymer coating or yarns making stitches. The polymer coating or the stitches are applied on the at least two flexible longitudinal elongated steel elements, on the flexible transverse steel elements and on the positioning element thereby making a bond.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED PRODUCT FROM A MINERAL STARTING MATERIAL BY MEANS OF DIRECT LASER SINTERING, AND LIGHTWEIGHT PART PRODUCED BY MEANS OF SAID METHOD
The invention relates to a method for utilizing mineral materials for additive manufacturing that can be implemented more quickly, more economically and with greater technical simplicity, in comparison with common additive manufacturing, by virtue of controlled expansion in the sintering process by means of a laser source. The entire production process is free of organic materials and allows previously unfeasible end uses in the fields of acoustic insulation, thermal insulation, fire protection, filtration, design objects and lightweight components to be realized. In particular, the invention relates to a method for producing a product by means of 3-D printing or additive manufacturing, wherein an open-pore lightweight part is constructed layer-by-layer, without the use of organic binders or other organic auxiliary agents, from a pulverous mineral starting raw substance of natural origin, which raw substance is obtained without chemical alteration of the solid constituents of the natural material, and wherein, beginning with the second layer, the most recently applied layer is bonded to the surface of the existing body of the lightweight part by means of immediately subsequently performed direct selective laser sintering.
EXTRUSION PRINTING OF BIOCOMPATIBLE SCAFFOLDS
Compositions and methods for making biocompatible articles are provided. A method includes preparing a 3D printable mixture and depositing successive layers of the mixture in a predetermined pattern to form a porous biocompatible article. The predetermined pattern has a porosity suitable for a bone or cartilage scaffold. Associated 3D printable compositions and porous articles made from the described methods are also described. The preparing a 3D printable mixture can comprise conjugating an alkyne-terminated polymer to a peptide to form a peptide-containing composite, or providing a mixture that comprises a ceramic material and a binder, and wherein the 3D printable mixture comprises from 50 wt. % to 80 wt. % of the ceramic material.

3D CONCRETE PRINTING WITH WELL ANCHORING CORDS
A concrete construction (100) made by 3D concrete printing that contains: two or more layers (102, 106) of cementitious material extruded one above the other, and at least one elongated steel element (104, 108) reinforcing at least one of the two or more layers. The elongated steel element (104, 108) is provided with a first crimp. Due to the crimp, a good anchorage in concrete is obtained and the anchorage force is predictable, since the standard deviation of the anchorage force is very small. The elongated steel element can be a single steel wire with a diameter D, the amplitude of the crimp ranges from 1.05×D to 5.0×D. The elongated steel element can also be a steel with steel filaments having a maximum diameter d. The amplitude of the crimp ranges from 1.05×d to 5.0×d.
