Low viscosity, water-borne, acrylic modified alkyd dispersion and method of production thereof
A water-borne, urethane and acrylic modified alkyd dispersion, wherein the dispersion is substantially surfactant free and has less than 1 weight % volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is described. Additionally, a method for preparing a water-borne, substantially surfactant free, urethane and acrylic modified alkyd dispersion, with less than 1 weight % VOC, is described. In the method, an acrylic modified alkyd polymer is reacted with a basic compound in water to form an acrylic modified alkyd dispersion having a first viscosity and then a hydrophobic seed is added thereto to form a urethane and acrylic modified alkyd dispersion having a second viscosity, which is substantially less than the first viscosity.
Isocyanate-functional polymer components and polyurethane articles formed from recycled polyurethane articles and associated methods for forming same
A method of forming an isocyanate-functional polymer component includes forming a first mixture by mixing a recycled polyurethane article and a first isocyanate component having isocyanate-functional groups. The first mixture is heated to a temperature sufficient to transform the recycled polyurethane article from a solid form to a liquid form and react the liquid recycled polyurethane component with the first isocyanate component to form an isocyanate-functional polymer component having an isocyanate-functional group content greater than zero and less than isocyanate-functional group content of the first isocyanate component. The formed isocyanate-functional polymer component may then be used for forming a polyurethane article or polyurethane foam article that is the reaction product of the formed isocyanate-functional polymer component, a second isocyanate component and an isocyanate-reactive component having hydroxyl-functional groups.
CURABLE FILM-FORMING COMPOSITIONS AND COATED ARTICLES PREPARED THEREWITH
The present invention is directed to curable film-forming compositions and coating kits comprising: (a) a polyisocyanate; (b) a dispersion comprising a polymer dispersed in an organic medium and prepared from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer having functional groups that are reactive with the polyisocyanate (a); and optionally (c) an adhesion promoter. The organic medium comprises a diluent having functional groups that are reactive with the polyisocyanate (a), the diluent comprising at least one of castor oil, a dimerized fatty acid diol, a hydroxyl functional branched polyolefin oil, a cashew nutshell liquid (CNSL)-based diol, a polycaprolactone-based polyol, and an alkoxylated polyol comprising a hydroxyl group. The curable film-forming composition has a solids content of at least 45 percent by weight, and demonstrates a viscosity of at most 100 centipoise (100 mPas). The present invention is also drawn to coated articles and vehicle components comprising the film-forming composition.
COATING METHOD
A coating method includes coating a first coating composition including a heterogeneous photoinitiator having a first photoinitiator and a second photoinitiator on a substrate, irradiating ultraviolet rays having a first wavelength into the first coating composition to form a first coating layer and cure the first photoinitiator, coating a second coating composition on the first coating layer, and irradiating ultraviolet rays having a second wavelength different than the first wavelength into the second coating composition to form a second coating layer.

SPECTACLE LENS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
The invention provides an ampholytic surfactant containing quaternary ammonium salt as well as a preparation method and application of the ampholytic surfactant, and belongs to the field of materials. The amphoteric surfactant containing quaternary material, carrying out alkaline hydrolysis in ammonia water to obtain water-soluble carboxylate, and grafting quaternary ammonium salt groups on amide groups. Due to the existence of the quaternary ammonium salt group, the surfactant has good antibacterial property, and due to the fact that the surfactant has both a cationic group and an anionic group, the surfactant has good antistatic property. In application, the surfactant can be prepared with alkyl sodium sulfonate to obtain a pre-disinfection detergent for sanitary equipment and medical instruments. The surfactant and a thickener aid are dissolved in a solvent according to a certain ratio to obtain an antibacterial antifogging agent. The surfactant can also be added into a tanning agent to improve the antibacterial property of the tanning agent.
