Methods of synthesizing the compositions are also provided and include the steps of heating an amount of water; adding a buffering agent to the water to form a buffer solution; mixing a poly(ethylene glycol) and a viscoelastic polymer into the buffer solution to form a reactive mixture; adding a plurality of antioxidant particles to the reactive mixture; and removing suspended gas bubbles from the reactive mixture. Methods of preventing oxidative damage to an eye lens of a subject are further provided and include administering the foregoing polymeric compositions to the eye lens of the subject.

The fluorine-containing mixture of the present disclosure comprises, by weight percentage, the following components: Component A: 50%˜90%; Component B: 3%˜25%; Component C: 0%˜35%; Component D: 0%˜3%; wherein Component A comprises high molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene homopolymer or copolymer dispersion resin; Component B comprises one or more fluorine-containing alkyl acrylate monomers; Component C comprises one or more fluorine-free acrylates; Component D comprises high temperature free radical initiator. There's no need to add inflammable or explosive lubricating oil, making the process highly safe; and the obtained fluorine-containing super-oleophobic microporous membrane has high waterproof, air-permeable, oil-resistant and washable performance, in line with the needs of a new generation of waterproof and air-permeable protective clothing.

The dental restorative material of the present invention is a dental restorative material that contains a resin matrix and an inorganic filler in an amount of 25 to 1,000 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the resin matrix, and in the dental restorative material, the resin matrix contains a polyurethane resin, and the inorganic filler has an average particle diameter of 0.001 to 100 μm. According to the present invention, a dental restorative material that has a high bending strength and a high surface hardness, and is excellent in transparency and cutting workability, and a resin material for dental cutting work containing the same can be provided.

A method of synthesizing a nanomaterial-containing resin for 3D printing includes preparing a dispersion of metal diboride nanosheets in a solvent, and combining the dispersion with a liquid polymer resin to yield the nanomaterial-containing resin. A method of fabricating a nanocomposite structure from the nanomaterial-containing resin includes providing the nanomaterial-containing resin to a three-dimensional printer, forming a three-dimensional structure with the three-dimensional printer, and processing the three-dimensional structure to yield the nanocomposite structure.

Embodiments in accordance with the present invention encompass a composition containing a latent catalyst and a compound capable of generating a Bronsted acid with a counterion capable of coordinating and activating the latent catalyst along with one or more monomers which undergo ring open metathesis polymerization (ROMP) and one or more multi-functional crosslinkable molecules when said composition is exposed to a suitable radiation forms a three-dimensional (3D) object. The catalyst system employed therein can be sensitive to oxygen and thus inhibits polymerization in ambient atmospheric conditions. The three-dimensional objects made by this process exhibits improved mechanical properties, particularly, high distortion temperature, impact strength, elongation to break, among others. Accordingly, compositions of this invention are useful as 3D inkjet materials for forming high impact strength objects of various sizes with microscale features lower than 100 microns, among various other uses.

Surprisingly, the compositions are very stable at ambient conditions to temperatures up to 80° C. for several days and undergo mass polymerization only when subjected to actinic radiation under inert atmosphere such as for example a blanket of nitrogen. Accordingly, compositions of this invention are useful in various opto-electronic applications, including as 3D printing materials, coatings, encapsulants, fillers, leveling agents, among others.
