MOLDED BODY, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MOLDED BODY
A molded body, comprising a resin and cells, the cells having an average diameter of from 0.03 mm to 0.13 mm, and a number per unit area of the cells at a cross-section of the molded body being no less than 20 cells/mm.sup.2.
Foamed resin molded article
A foamed resin molded article (1) including: a foamed resin layer (30) comprising a first resin which is a copolymer including a rubber component, a vinyl cyanide monomer unit and an aromatic vinyl monomer unit, and a blowing agent; and a non-foamed resin layer (50) covering the foamed resin layer (30), wherein: the non-foamed resin layer (50) comprises a second resin which is a copolymer including a rubber component, a vinyl cyanide monomer unit, and an aromatic vinyl monomer unit; and the amount of the rubber component in the non-foamed resin layer (50), determined by pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (PGC/MS), is 1% by mass or more and 30% by mass or less, based on the total mass of the second resin.
Molding compositions and foam molded articles made thereof
A foamed article formed by foam injection molding or foam extrusion of a composition is disclosed. The article is formed from a molding composition consisting essentially of: 100 phr of at least two different hydrogenated styrenic block copolymers (HSBC), a first HSBC and a second HSBC, having different molecular weights, a molecular weight ratio of at least 1.2:1, respectively; and a weight ratio of ranging from 5:95 to 95:5, respectively; 10-55 phr of a polypropylene having a melt flow of at least 2 g10/min; and optionally up to 55 phr of a plasticizer, selected from hydrocarbon based oils, fatty acids, triglyceride oils, and mixtures thereof. The composition has a melt flow rate of 2-50 g/10 min, a Shore A hardness of 60-90, a melt strength (F) of at least 0.010 N, and a melt strength (V) of at least 10.
FOAMED FILLER ROD IN OPTICAL FIBER CABLES
The present invention relates to optical fiber communication cables, and more particularly, relates to foamed polyvinylidene fluoride polymer filler rods used in optical fiber cable constructions. The foamed polyvinylidene fluoride polymer filler rod may or may not contain a central strength member. This invention includes cables containing the foamed PVDF filler rods of this invention. The present disclosure provides filler rods that have higher melting temperature than the conventional filler rods and methods of making the filler rods.
FLOORING UNDERLAYMENT MATERIAL, AND RELATED METHODS AND SYSTEMS
A material for making an underlayment of a floor includes a thermoplastic polymer that has a thickness and a microstructure. The microstructure includes a plurality of closed cells, each cell containing a void and each cell having a maximum dimension extending across the void within the cell that is less than or equal to 200 micrometers long. The microstructure also includes a density that is greater than or equal to 0.18 grams per cubic centimeter.
RESIN SHEET AND RADAR SYSTEM
A resin sheet includes the porous structure. The porous structure is configured to adjust transmission of a millimeter wave. The porous structure has a relative permittivity varying in a thickness direction of the resin sheet such that a difference between average relative permittivities in two adjacent layer portions is a predetermined value or less, the layer portions each having a particular thickness smaller than a wavelength of the millimeter wave. The porous structure includes a boundary portion being one of the layer portions, the boundary portion having a maximum average relative permittivity. The relative permittivity increases in stages from end portions of the porous structure toward the boundary portion, the end portions being defined in the thickness direction of the resin sheet.
BIODEGRADABLE COMPOSITIONS AND ARTICLES MADE FROM CELLULOSE ACETATE
A foamable composition comprising at least one cellulose acetate, a plasticizer, a nucleating agent, and either a chemical blowing agent or a physical blowing agent is disclosed. The composition is formed into foamed articles that are biodegradable.
Reduced density thermoplastics
The instant application discloses, among other things, ways to manufacture reduced density thermoplastics. A rapid foaming process which may create a polymer product by saturating thermoplastic sheet or preforms, heating, and then forming into final shape, is described. The polymer product may include an integral solid skin. This method may be utilized with any thermoplastic. The material handling, saturation methods, and end products are also described.

RESIN SHEET, LAMINATE, AND RADAR SYSTEM
A resin sheet includes a porous structure. The porous structure is configured to adjust transmission of a millimeter wave. The porous structure has a relative permittivity varying in stages in a thickness direction of the resin sheet from a plane on which the millimeter wave is incident, the relative permittivity varying such that a difference between average relative permittivities in two adjacent layer portions is a predetermined value or less, the layer portions each having a particular thickness smaller than a wavelength of the millimeter wave. The porous structure has, as pores, only pores each having a pore diameter equal to or less than 10% of the wavelength of the millimeter wave.
