Polyethylene formulations with improved barrier and environmental stress crack resistance
Polyethylene formulations and articles produced therefrom, comprise a multimodal high density polyethylene (HDPE) composition, and 0.1 ppm to 300 ppm of a nucleating agent, wherein the multimodal HDPE composition comprises a density of 0.940 g/cm.sup.3 to 0.970 g/cm.sup.3 when measured according to ASTM D792, and a melt index (I2) of 0.1 g/10 min. to 10.0 g/10 min. when measured according to ASTM D1238 at 190° C. and a 2.16 kg load, and wherein the multimodal HDPE composition comprises an infrared cumulative detector fraction (CDF.sub.IR) of greater than 0.27 and an infrared cumulative detector fraction to light scattering cumulative detector fraction ratio (CDF.sub.IR/CDF.sub.LS) from 0.7 to 2.0.
Polyoxymethylene polymer composition that is chemical resistant
Polyoxymethylene polymer compositions and molded articles made from the composition are disclosed that are fuel resistant, particularly diesel fuel resistant, and resistant to highly acidic solutions. The polymer composition contains a polyoxymethylene polymer generally in an amount from about 90% to about 95% by weight. In addition, the polymer composition contains an add neutralizing agent and a plasticizer at a weight ratio that has been found to significantly improve the add resistant properties of the composition.

The present invention relates to a resin composition containing: 100 parts by weight of a polypropylene resin; 0.2 parts by weight to 2 parts by weight of an olefinic elastomer; 2 parts by weight to 5 parts by weight of a talc having an aspect ratio in a range of 35 to 60; 2 parts by weight to 5 parts by weight of a fibrous magnesium sulfate having an average fiber diameter of 0.1 μm to 2 μm and an average fiber length of 8 μm to 30 μm; and 0.01 parts by weight to 1 part by weight of a metallic soap that is at least one selected from the group consisting of a magnesium salt of a fatty acid and an aluminum salt of a fatty acid.

MULTILAYER POLYPROPYLENE FILM FOR CAPACITOR
An object of the present invention is to provide a film for a capacitor such that the film excels in high-temperature dielectric breakdown voltage (high-temperature BDV) and has blocking resistance, and bleeding-out of, for instance, a nucleating agent is suppressed even after long-term storage. The present invention pertains to a multilayer polypropylene film for a capacitor, the film including a base layer composed of a propylene polymer composition containing a propylene homopolymer (X) and 0.0001 to 0.05 mass % of a polymer-based α-crystal nucleating agent (C), and a front layer or a back layer composed of a propylene-based polymer (Y) on at least one surface of the base layer, wherein the base layer and the front layer or back layer are stretched.
POLYETHYLENE POLYMER COMPOSITIONS AND ARTICLES MADE FROM THE SAME
A polymer composition comprises a polyethylene polymer having a Melt Relaxation Ratio of 1.5 or greater and a salt of a branched alkyl phosphonic acid. A method for molding a thermoplastic polymer composition comprises the steps of (a) providing an apparatus comprising a die and a mold cavity; (b) providing the polymer composition described above; (c) heating the polymer composition to melt the polymer composition; (d) extruding the molten polymer composition through the die to form a parison; (e) capturing the parison in the mold cavity; (f) blowing a pressurized fluid into the parison to inflate the parison and conform it to the interior surface of the mold cavity; (g) allowing the molded article to cool so that the molded article retains its shape; and (h) removing the molded article from the mold cavity.

Gel composition comprising a phase change material
The present invention provides a composition comprising a) a phase change material; b) 1 to 10 wt % of a silica gelling additive; and c) a styrene co-polymer gelling additive; wherein the composition is in the form of a gel and wherein the weight ratio of b) silica gelling additive to c) styrene co-polymer gelling additive in the composition is in the range from 0.6 to 5:1. The invention also provides a method of making the composition and an article and a product comprising the composition. Finally, the invention provides the use of a combination of a silica gelling additive and a styrene co-polymer gelling additive to make a gel composition comprising a phase change material with one or more improved properties.
