The invention relates to a method for producing hydrogen gas and optionally a carbonaceous product from a hydrocarbon fuel, comprising: introducing a flowing stream of said fuel into a reaction chamber of a reactor, wherein said reaction chamber has at least one wall and a heating zone which is heated by a heat source, heating said fuel in said heating zone to effect pyrolytic decomposition of said hydrocarbon fuel to produce said hydrogen gas and optionally said carbonaceous product; wherein the ratio of C:O (mol/mol) in the reaction chamber is greater than 20:1; and characterized in that the heat source heats the hydrocarbon fuel in the heating zone by radiated heat to an average temperature of greater than 2000 C.

The invention also relates to an apparatus for carrying out the method of the invention.

Systems and methods for carbon black production with a gas turbine engine having exhaust gas recirculation

A gas turbine system includes a turbine combustor, a turbine, an exhaust gas compressor, an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system, a carbon black recovery system, and a carbon black production controller. The carbon black production controller monitors data corresponding to a parameter of the carbon black. The carbon black production controller is also configured to adjust, based on the data, the fuel provided to the turbine combustor while maintaining a ratio of the fuel to the oxidant within a predetermined range to adjust the parameter of the carbon black.

Method for producing carbon material dispersion, carbon material dispersion, and apparatus therefor

The disclosed is a method for producing a carbon material dispersion which removes efficiently and reliably metallic components from carbon materials, and that provides a carbon material dispersion of a high product quality and stable electrical properties. The method comprises a first magnetic separation step in which the powdered and/or granulated carbon material C is applied to the surface of a rotating magnetic roll 130 to remove the metallic component M from the carbon material in the dry state of the powdered and granulated carbon material C; and a second magnetic separation step in which a magnet element 310 is placed in a carbon material dispersion D, in which the carbon material from which the metallic component has been removed in the first magnetic separation step is dispersed in a dispersing medium, in advance of the second magnetic separation step.
