Also disclosed are methods of making the electrodepositable coating composition, methods of coating a substrate, and substrates treated with the electrodepositable coating composition.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING INSULATED ELECTRIC WIRE
A method for producing an insulated electric wire of the present invention is a method for forming an insulating coating film on a surface of an electric wire by performing baking treatment after forming an insulating layer on the surface of the electric wire by an electrodeposition method using an insulating electrodeposition coating material containing a polymer. Pretreatment of evaporating a solvent in the insulating layer is performed before the baking treatment, and the pretreatment is performed by a near infrared ray heating furnace. In addition, a temperature of the pretreatment is lower than a temperature of the baking treatment.

where R.sup.1═H or OH; R.sup.2=a divalent radical selected from the group consisting of *C(O)—O, (HO)*CH—CH.sub.2 and *CH.sub.2—CH.sub.2, with * denoting the carbon atom which is bound to the benzene ring; and R.sup.3=a monovalent radical. Also described herein is a method of coating a metallic substrate including the steps of dipping a metallic substrate into an electrodeposition bath containing the electrodepositable coating material; switching the substrate as a cathode; depositing the electrodepositable coating material onto the substrate to form a coating layer; and drying and curing the thus formed coating layer. Further described herein is a method of using the compounds of formula (I) as anticorrosion agents in electrodeposition paints and coated substrates.
Sensor formed from conductive nanoparticles and a porous non-conductive substrate
In various aspects, the sensors include a substrate that is porous and non-conductive with nanoparticles deposited onto the substrate within pores of the substrate by an electrophoretic process to form a sensor element. The nanoparticles are electrically conductive. The sensor includes a detector in communication with the sensor element to measure a change in an electrical property of the sensor element. The change in the electrical property may result from alterations in quantum tunneling between nanoparticles within the sensor element, in various aspects.
PRODUCTION OF GRAPHENIC CARBON PARTICLES UTILIZING HYDROCARBON PRECURSOR MATERIALS
A method for generating hydrogen and making graphenic carbon particles is disclosed comprising introducing an inert carrier gas and a hydrocarbon precursor material comprising a material capable of forming a two-carbon-fragment species and/or methane into a thermal zone, heating the hydrocarbon precursor material in the thermal zone to decompose the hydrocarbon precursor material and form the hydrogen and the graphenic carbon particles, and contacting the gaseous stream with a quench stream. Graphenic carbon particles having an average aspect ratio greater than 3:1, a B.E.T. specific surface area of from 70 to 1000 square meters per gram, and a Raman spectroscopy 2D/G peak ratio of at least 1:1.
