The LED may include a semiconductor layer sequence to emit primary radiation, and the LED may further include a conversion element configured to at least partially convert the primary radiation into secondary radiation having a first emission band with a first emission maximum ranging from 400 nm to 500 nm and a second emission band with a second emission maximum ranging from 510 nm to 700 nm. A relative intensity of the first emission band may reduce with decreasing current intensity of the current for operating the LED, and a relative intensity of the second emission band may increase with decreasing current intensity of the current for operating the LED.

A method for manufacturing a phosphor powder of the present invention, in which the phosphor powder contains an inorganic compound in which Eu as an activator is solid-soluted in a crystal represented by Ba.sub.26Si.sub.51O.sub.2N.sub.84 or in an inorganic crystal having the same crystal structure as the crystal represented by Ba.sub.26Si.sub.51O.sub.2N.sub.84, the method including: a mixing step of mixing a raw material containing each element constituting the inorganic compound to obtain a raw material mixture blended such that b=51 and a/b>(26−c)/51 are satisfied when molar ratios of Ba, Si, and Eu in the raw material mixture are respectively a, b, and c; a firing step of firing the raw material mixture to obtain a fired product; and a cleaning treatment step of subjecting the fired product to an acid treatment and/or a water treatment.

Infrared fluorescent coating compositions

A coating composition includes: (i) a film-forming resin; (ii) an infrared reflective pigment; and (iii) an infrared fluorescent pigment different from the infrared reflective pigment. When the coating composition is cured to form a coating and exposed to radiation comprising fluorescence-exciting radiation, the coating has a greater effective solar reflectance (ESR) compared to the same coating exposed to the radiation comprising fluorescence-exciting radiation except without the infrared fluorescent pigment. A multi-layer coating including the coating composition, and a substrate at least partially coated with the coating composition is also disclosed. A method of reducing temperature of an article includes applying the coating composition to at least a portion of the article.

FLUORESCENT BODY, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME, AND LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE USING SAME

Provided are a new phosphor having emission characteristics different from the conventional nitride or oxynitride phosphor, a manufacturing method, and a light-emitting device. In an embodiment, the phosphor may include inorganic substance having crystal represented by A.sub.26(D, E).sub.51X.sub.86 including at least A, D, X (A is at least one kind of element selected from Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba; and D is Si, and X is at least one kind of element selected from O, N, and F); and further includes, if necessary, E (E is at least one kind of element selected from B, Al, Ga, and In) wherein the crystal further includes M (M is at least one kind of element selected from Mn, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Tb, Dy, and Yb). Upon irradiation of excitation source, the maximum value of emission peak in a wavelength range from 630 nm to 850 nm may occur.

Suspension of a magnesium silicate, method for making same and use thereof as a phosphor

The silicate of magnesium and of barium, strontium or calcium of the invention is characterized in that it is in the form of a suspension of solid crystallized particles in a liquid phase, said particles having a mean size between 0.1 μm and 1 μm. It is prepared by spray-drying a liquid mixture comprising compounds of magnesium, of silicium and of at least one first element chosen from barium, strontium and calcium, by submitting the dried mixture to a first calcination in air and to a second calcination in a reducing atmosphere and by wet milling the calcined mixture.

Phosphor

Provided is a new phosphor which can be excited by visible light in a wide band to emit a broad fluorescence spectrum, and also to emit near-infrared light with high intensity. Proposed is a phosphor, which is an oxide comprising Ca, Cu, and Si, wherein the containing molar ratios of the elements are 0.15≤Ca/Si<0.25 and 0.13≤Cu/Si<0.25.

The invention relates to a luminescent material having the formula (MB) (TA) 3−2x (TC) 1+2xO4−4xN4x:E, wherein: —TA is selected from a group of monovalent metals, including Li, Na, Cu, Ag and combinations thereof; —MB is selected from a group of divalent metals including Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn and combinations thereof; —TC is selected from a group of trivalent metals including B, Al, Ga, In, Y, Fe, Cr, Sc, rare earth metals and combinations thereof; —E is selected from a group including Eu, Mn, Ce, Yb and combinations thereof, and wherein 0<x<0.875.

A phosphor combination may include a first phosphor and a second phosphor. The second phosphor may be a red-emitting quantum dot phosphor. The phosphor combination may optionally include a third phosphor that is a red-emitting phosphor with the formula (MB) (TA)3−2x(TC)1+2xO4−4xN4x:E. A conversion element may include the phosphor combination. An optoelectronic device may include the phosphor combination and a radiation-emitting semiconductor chip.
