Solvent composition prepared from waste oil and method of preparing the same
Provided is a technology to convert an oil having a high content of Cl into a solvent. Impurities such as Cl, S, N, and metals are removed from an oil having a boiling point of 340° C. or lower in a waste oil having a high content of Cl, and hydrogenation is carried out to recover an oil, and the oil may be applied as a solvent. Separation by boiling points to meet the properties of the solvent product is performed, a solid acid material and an oil having a high Cl content are mixed, impurities are removed by a heat treatment at a high temperature, and hydrogenation is carried out with a metal oxide catalyst, thereby manufacturing a solvent product.

Removal of alkyne impurities from diolefin containing mixtures through cracking over CuO/Al2O3 based materials
Processes to selectively crack alkyne compounds from a hydrocarbon stream including olefinic and di-olefinic compounds are described. The process includes contacting the hydrocarbon stream with a supported CuO catalyst under conditions sufficient to crack the alkynes to form a product stream that included cracked compounds and further separating the cracked organic compounds from the hydrocarbon stream.

Paraffin utilization of linear alkyl benzene production
A process is provided for producing linear alkylbenzenes with an improved yield from paraffin feed due to the use of a new catalyst that has a reduced selectivity to produce undesired aromatic compounds. In some embodiments, it is now possible to operate the process without including a unit to remove such aromatic compounds which allows for an operator of a plant to make modifications to the process to increase product yield.
