SLAG DISCHARGE APPARATUS AND SLAG DISCHARGE METHOD

A slag crusher (20) is provided in a combustor of a gasifier (10) for gasifying a carbonaceous feedstock, and discharges falling slag generated in the combustor from the gasifier (10). The slag crusher (20) is provided with: a screen (22) provided so as to intersect with the direction in which the slag falls, the screen (22) having a plurality of openings (30) and passing slag having a diameter smaller than that of the openings (30); a spreader (24) for moving over the top surface of the screen (22) and crushing slag deposited on the top surface of the screen (22); and a nozzle (26) for spraying high-pressure water onto the slag deposited on the screen (22). The slag deposited on the top surface of the screen (22) thereby more easily passes from the openings (30) in the screen (22).

Control method for gasification power generation system

The present invention relates to an operation control method for a gasification power generation system for gasifying carbon-based fuel such as coal in a gasifier using oxygen or oxygen-enriched air as an oxidizing agent, burning the obtained syngas as fuel in a gas turbine, driving the gas turbine by the syngas, driving a steam turbine by steam generated using exhaust heat of the gas turbine, thus executing combined power generation.

APPARATUS FOR TREATING WASTE MATERIAL AND A PRODUCT GAS

The invention relates to an apparatus for treating waste material including organic components and radioactive agents. In the apparatus the waste material including organic components and radioactive agents are gasified at temperature between 600-950° C. in a fluidized bed reactor to form a gaseous material. The gaseous material is than cooled in a water quenching device so that temperature is between 300-500° C. after the cooling. The solid fraction including radioactive agents is removed from the gaseous material in a in at least one filtration device. A gas scrubbing device then removes sulphur by scrubbing the treated gaseous material after the filtration in order to form a treated gaseous material.

Systems and methods for separating chlorine-containing species from aqueous solutions of chlorine-containing species

Disclosed is a method for separating a chlorine-containing species from an aqueous solution of the chlorine-containing species in a catalytic hydrocarbon conversion process that includes the step of oxidizing a spent chloride-containing hydrocarbon conversion catalyst, the spent hydrocarbon conversion catalyst including a hydrocarbon residue formed thereon. The oxidizing forms a flue gas including chlorine-containing species, water, and oxides of carbon. The method further includes contacting the flue gas with a water scrubbing stream to dissolve at least a portion of the chlorine-containing species in the water scrubbing stream to form an aqueous acid solution and contacting the aqueous acid solution with a hygroscopic liquid to generate dehydrated hydrogen chloride gas. Still further, the method includes contacting the dehydrated hydrogen chloride gas with additional spent chloride-containing hydrocarbon conversion catalyst to sorb chlorine onto the additional spent chloride-containing hydrocarbon conversion catalyst.

The present invention demonstrates a solid fuel grade gasification-combustion dual bed poly-generation system, comprising a combustion system, a gasification system, a synthesized gas cooling and purifying system and a synthesized gas methanization system. The combustion system is connected with the gasification system through a circulating material return system. The gasification system mainly adapts the circulating fluidized-bed combustion mode. The gasification system adapts the fluidized-bed incomplete gasification method and the generated semi-coke is returned to the combustion system for re-utilization. The synthesized gas purifying and cooling unit adapts water cycling and combustible recycling. The by-products, CO.sub.2 and steam, in the methanization unit can be recovered, so the maximum utilization rate of energy in this system is realized.

A land based or marine vessel based system for generating power from syngas utilizes a feedstock of waste material acquired from waste dumps, municipalities, and/or ports of call of the marine vessel. The marine vessel or land based system can be retrofitted to be fueled by the waste material. The syngas is used to provide propulsive and/or electrical power for the marine vessel or the land based system. The waste material is not just a feedstock for the syngas but is provided with payment from the ports of call to take the waste material away. The marine vessel also collects garbage floating on the waterway along the voyage between the various ports of call for use as feedstock in the production of syngas. The modular syngas generation system further generates H.sub.2 from the syngas. The H.sub.2 generated thereby is used to fuel an H.sub.2 fuel cell for the generation of electrical power.
