According to an embodiment, a moisture removal system includes a pump to move oil from the transformer into the system; one or more incoming oil moisture and temperature sensors to detect a first moisture level and temperature of oil; a processor to receive the moisture and temperature and determine an estimated paper moisture value of the insulation of the transformer, and compare the estimate to a target paper moisture value; and an overdry prevention bypass valve positioned in a first position to divert oil without drying when the estimated paper moisture value is equal to or less than the target value, and in a second position to channel oil through one or more drying cylinders when the estimated paper moisture value exceeds the target value.
Continuous purification of motor oils using a three-phase separator
A method for continuous purification of motor lubricant oil includes circulating lubricant oil between a motor lubricant oil tank and a motor; transporting contaminated lubricant oil from the motor lubricant oil tank in a cleaning loop. The transport in the cleaning loop includes adding at least one liquid separation aid to contaminated lubricant oil; supplying contaminated lubricant oil to a three-phase centrifugal separator; continuously separating contaminants from the lubricant oil in the separator and continuously discharging a first liquid phase including purified lubricant oil from a liquid light phase outlet of the separator, continuously discharging a second liquid phase including solid contaminants from a liquid heavy phase outlet of the separator and continuously discharging a sludge phase from a sludge outlet by the aid of a conveyor screw of the three-phase separator. The method further includes transporting the first liquid phase including purified oil back to the lubricant oil tank. The present invention further provides a system for carrying out the method.

Prevention of deposits on engine components
A fuel and/or lubricant system for an engine can include an engine component configured to be in fluid communication with the fuel and/or lubricant, and an alternating current (AC) source electrically connected to the engine component to create an electric field of alternating polarity to subject particles within the fuel and/or lubricant to dielectrophoresis as the fuel and/or lubricant passes through the electric field to prevent deposits from forming on the engine component. In certain embodiments, the engine component can be a filter screen configured to filter the fuel and/or lubricant to subject particles within the fuel and/or lubricant to dielectrophoresis as the fuel and/or lubricant passes through the filter screen.
Solvency enhancer compositions, methods of preparation and methods of use thereof
Disclosed are solvency enhancer compositions, for example, as additives to lubricating oils and as formulated in lubricating oil compositions and associated methods of preparation and use thereof. The compositions and methods can dissolve at least one of oxidation products and other organic polar compounds, due to lubricant degradation, formed and suspended in oil compositions including adding an effective amount of a solvency enhancer to the oils, wherein the solvency enhancer includes Guerbet alcohols.
