Process for producing flavorants and related materials
A process for producing flavorants made or derived from tobacco or, more generally, made or derived from any biomass derived from any one or more species of genus Nicotiana, or that otherwise incorporate tobacco, is provided. Provided are flavorants obtained or derived from plants or portions of plants from the Nicotiana species, such as from one or more flowers from one or more Nicotiana species, and products comprising one or more such flavorants.
Enrichment of palmitoleic acid and palmitoleic acid derivatives by dry and solvent-aided winterization
The present invention provides a fatty acid mixture enriched with palmitoleic acid and palmitoleic acid derivatives relative to the starting lipid mixture; fractionations procedure describe herein are winterization methods. The invention provides methods of dry winterization and solvent-aided winterization alone and in combination. In some embodiments, the palmitoleic acid and palmitoleic acid derivative enriched mixture described herein contains less than 1% of palmitic acid and palmitic acid derivative. The invention also provides palmitoleic derivatives of use as dietary supplements.
PRODUCTION OF SATURATED FATS IN MICROBES
The present invention relates to extracted microbial lipids, microbial cells comprising the lipid, and extracts thereof. The present invention also relates to use of these lipids, cells and extracts in foods, feedstuffs and beverages.
ETHER PHOSPHOLIPIDS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
[PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED] It enables any superior ether phospholipids to the conventional ones and a method for producing the same in an easy manner on a massive scale, in light of effects of treating and improving brain diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson disease, depression and schizophrenia, metabolic diseases such as diabetes, various infectious diseases, and immune disorders. [SOLUTION] Ether phospholipids are obtained from bivalve tissues such as clams and corbicula by extraction processing. The ether phospholipids exhibit significantly superior effects of the above as compared to the conventional ether phospholipids derived from chicken tissues.
Oil Crystallization Promoter, Preparation Method Therefor and Use Thereof
Disclosed are an oil crystallization promoter, a preparation method therefor and a use thereof, belonging to the technical field of dietary oil processing and control. Components of the oil crystallization promoter of the present disclosure include, by mass percentage: 50%-70% Dipalmito-olein (PO), 10%-20% Dipalmitin (PP), and 15%-30% Diolein (OO), adding up to 100%. The oil crystallization promoter of the present disclosure can increase the crystallization rate of oil, promote rapid formation and stabilization of a stable crystal form of the oil, accelerate rapid crystallization and stabilization of confectionery- and baking-specific fat products such as margarine, shortening and cocoa butter substitute, and inhibit product graininess and post-hardening.
METHODS FOR FRACTIONATING LIPIDS
[Problem] Provision of a method for fractionating lipids using liquefied dimethyl ether as a solvent.
[Means for Solving] To provide a method for fractionating a lipid using liquefied dimethyl ether as a solvent. [Solution] A method for fractionating a lipid, which comprises subjecting a microbial biomass to extraction using liquefied dimethyl ether as a solvent and then fractionating the lipid utilizing separation selectivity for the lipid. A method for producing a lipid, which comprises subjecting a microbial biomass to extraction using liquefied dimethyl ether as a solvent, then fractionating a portion of the lipid utilizing separation selectivity for the lipid to modify the fatty acid composition of the remainder of the lipid which remains in the microbial biomass, and then extracting the lipid having a modified fatty acid composition.
