The modular bioreactor may include a plurality of structured fixed bed arranged in a stacked configuration. The modular bioreactor may include an outer casing forming a space for conditioning (e.g., insulating, heating, cooling) at least a chamber in which cells are cultured. The bioreactor may also include an impeller with radially curved blades, and may also suspend the impeller so that it may move from side-to-side and align with an external drive. Related methods are also disclosed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CELL TRANSDUCTION
Systems and methods are disclosed herein for use in transducing, activating, and otherwise treating cells. Cells are introduced into an inner layer of a multi-layered stack that defines at least one flow chamber and a plurality of cell entrainment regions. Vertical flow through the stack entrains the cells in the cell entrainment regions along with genetic information introduction agents or other additives, before the cells are washed using a reverse vertical flow and are collected from the device.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL APPARATUS
A tempering device for tempering of biomass contained in a container, including at least one tempering mechanism, and at least one conveying device for conveying a mass flow of biomass in a main flow direction. The at least one conveying device includes at least one agitator, and wherein the at least one tempering mechanism is arranged in the main flow direction generated by the at least one conveying device. The at least one tempering mechanism is tubular with an inner tube and with an outer tube arranged coaxially to the inner tube. The inner tube and the outer tube form an intermediate space through which a tempering medium may flow. The tempering mechanism is oriented relative to the conveying device such that, in operation of the heating device, at least 40% of the delivery volume of the mass flow generated by the conveying device flows through the inner tube.
Biochemical reactor with a lower divider support structure
This disclosure describes a biochemical reactor with a lower divider support structure. The biochemical reactor may include a tank configured to house immobilized carriers and fluid. The biochemical reactor may include a circulation conduit at least partially disposed within the tank. The circulation conduit may include a circulation outlet opening. The biochemical reactor may include one or more vanes disposed proximate to the circulation outlet opening. The biochemical reactor may include a tank recirculation port disposed proximate to a second end. The biochemical reactor may include a tank inlet configured for feeding fluid into the tank. The biochemical reactor may include a tank outlet configured for drawing fluid from the tank. The tank outlet may be disposed proximate to a first end. The biochemical reactor may include a first divider and a second divider. The second divider may include a support structure including a grating configured to withstand variable loads.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR INTRACELLULAR DELIVERY
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for intracellular delivery. The systems and methods may comprise the use of a cell processing apparatus which may comprise a plurality of compression elements such as ridges. The intracellular delivery may be caused by rapid compression of cells, which may result in a reduction of a cell volume. The compression may occur while the cells pass through gaps formed by at least a subset of the ridges. The cell processing apparatus may further comprise one or more recovery spaces which are positioned between adjacent ridges. The cells may recover at least a portion of the reduced cell volume by absorbing media and/or reagents surrounding the cells while flowing through the recovery spaces. The ridges may also divert less compressible cells into a diversion channel, thereby sorting the cells based on various cell properties and/or preventing clogging within the apparatus.
DEVICE FOR CONTROLLED APICAL FLOW IN CELL CULTURE INSERTS
A device for controlling apical flow to a cell culture includes an apical insert that defines at least one inlet channel extending from an inlet port to an apical feed port and at least one outlet channel extending from an apical effluent port to an outlet port. The apical insert includes a projecting portion configured to extend into a cell culture insert to a depth that is less than a depth of the cell culture insert, and a contact surface configured to maintain a spatial relationship between the projecting portion and the cell culture insert.
Method For Mechanical and Hydrodynamic Microfluidic Transfection and Apparatus Therefor
Methods for introducing exogenous material into a cell are provided, which include exposing the cell to a transient decrease in pressure in the presence of the exogenous material. Also provided are devices for performing the method of the invention.
BIOREACTOR FOR CELL CULTURE
