SYSTEM FOR TREATING BIOMASS WITH A GAS
A system and a method for treating biomass with a gas includes at least one conduit having at least one biomass inlet and at least one biomass outlet, at least one gas inlet and at least one gas outlet. The system further includes a transport unit configured to move the biomass through the conduit from the at least one biomass inlet to the at least one biomass outlet thereby defining a biomass transport direction. The system is configured such that gas flowing from the at least one gas inlet to the at least one gas outlet crosses the biomass transport direction.
Biomass treatment system
This biomass treatment system includes: a hydrothermal decomposition section for decomposing the cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin contained in a biomass as a raw material under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions in a main section, namely a tank having a gas-liquid interface, and thus removing a lignin component and a hemicellulose component from the biomass; a discharge section for discharging a biomass solid (a component insoluble in hot-water) obtained by the decomposition; a slurrying tank which is connected to the discharge section and in which the discharged biomass solid is slurried in water fed thereinto to form a biomass slurry; and a solid-liquid separation apparatus including both a settling tank which is provided on a discharge line for discharging the biomass slurry and in which the biomass slurry is settled and a scooping-up and conveying means for scooping up the biomass solid deposited at the bottom of the settling tank and separating the solid biomass component from water.
Rapid pretreatment
Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and compositions for the pretreatment of biomass within seconds with low inhibitor formation. The pretreatment process is used to convert biomass to a fuel or other useful chemicals by subjecting the feedstock to a rapid retention time under pressure and temperature and/or chemical reactant. The system includes a continuously-operating valve discharge apparatus to discharge pretreated feedstock while maintaining uniform pressure on the pretreatment system.
Cell culture bottle
The invention relates to a cell culture bottle for adherent cells (e.g. human mesenchymal stem cells), comprising: a vessel; an internal cylinder, which has an internal Archimedes screw; an internal central tube, through which liquid can flow; and at least one wall arranged around the central tube. This arrangement provides an enlarged inner surface for the growth of the cells and for the reliable mixing of the fluid. The cell culture bottle is formed as a single piece and can be simply and economically produced as a disposable device by means of additive manufacturing.
DEVICE FOR THE ELECTRICAL DISINTEGRATION OF CELL STRUCTURES, AND INSTALLATION AND USE OF THE DEVICE FOR PRODUCING FEED INTERMEDIATES AND FEED PRODUCTS
Disclosed is a device for the electrical disintegration of cell structures including a chamber having an inlet for receiving material containing cell structures, an outlet for the discharge thereof, and a conveyor line extending between the inlet and the outlet, an electrode unit which has an electrode body which is arranged within the chamber at least portion-wise along the conveyor line, wherein the chamber has a wall which is portion-wise or completely electrically conductive and electrically insulated from the electrode body, and the electrode unit is adapted to generate an electric field between the electrode body and the wall for electrical disintegration.

HELICAL SCREW CONVEYOR UNIT, WORM SHAFT, WORM EXTRUDER, AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A WORM SHAFT
A helical screw conveyor unit, worm shaft, worm extruder and method for providing a worm shaft, wherein the helical screw conveyor unit is an exchangeable element for a helicoidally or spirally winding helix of a worm shaft, having a main body with a helicoidally winding helix element, wherein the helical screw conveyor unit is serviced with little outlay on servicing, the top side of the lateral surface is concavely curved in shell-like form about the longitudinal axis, and the main body has a radial opening for the leadthrough of a fastening region of a worm shaft shank, the helix element has at most one half of one helix turn, the the main body lateral surface has an inner surface for being seated on the fastening region, and the helical screw conveyor unit has at least one fastening element for detachably fastening the main body to the fastening region.
Pressurised recirculation of organic material
An apparatus (10) for the pressurized recirculation of organic material comprising a reactor vessel (12) capable of being pressurized and in which both anaerobic digestion and aerobic composting of organic material may occur, the reactor vessel (12) having both an inlet (14) and an outlet (16) for organic material, together with a conveyor means (18, 20, 22, 28, 29, 30, 32, 34 and 36) to convey organic material to the inlet (14) and from the outlet (16), whereby organic material may be transferred between the outlet (16) and the inlet (14) to achieve recirculation and rearrangement thereof while maintaining a pressurized state. A method for the pressurized recirculation of organic material is also described.
Introducing screw for biogas plants
A screw conveyor for introducing organic matter into a biogas digester that is under internal gas pressure. A biogas plant may be provided with such a screw conveyor, and methods for feeding organic solids to such a biogas plant may be performed. A plug section of the screw conveyor has an expansion region in which the passage cross-section between the conveying screw and the screw pipe widens in the conveying direction and a constriction region located downstream from the expansion region, in which the passage cross-section between the conveying screw and the screw pipe is reduced in the conveying direction.
