The steel component has a nitride compound layer with a thickness of 5.0 μm to 30.0 μm and a hardened layer in an order from a component surface to a component inside, where a thickness of a porous layer on an outermost surface of the nitride compound layer is 3.0 μm or less and 40.0% or less of a thickness of the nitride compound layer, and the hardened layer has a hardness of HV600 or more at a position of 50 μm inward from the component surface, a hardness of HV400 or more at a position from the component surface to the component inside of 400 μm, and a hardness of HV250 or more at a position from the component surface to the component inside of 600 μm.

Grain-oriented electrical steel sheet and manufacturing method therefor
The present invention relates to a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet including 2.0 to 6.0 wt % of Si, 0.01 wt % or less (excluding 0 wt %) of C, 0.01 wt % or less (excluding 0 wt %) of N, and 0.005 to 0.1 wt % of Co, and including a balance of Fe and other inevitable impurities.
Low-carbon iron-based alloy useful for valve seat inserts
A low-carbon iron-chromium-molybdenum alloy comprises, in weight percent: carbon from about 0.1 to about 0.8 percent; manganese from about 0.1 to about 4 percent; silicon from about 0.1 to about 0.5 percent; chromium from 14 to about 16 percent; nickel up to about 8 percent; vanadium up to about 0.1 percent; molybdenum from 14 to about 16 percent; tungsten up to about 6 percent; niobium from about 0.1 to about 0.8 percent; cobalt up to about 0.2 percent; boron up to 0.1 percent; nitrogen up to about 0.1 percent; copper up to about 1.5 percent; sulfur up to about 0.05 percent; phosphorus up to about 0.05 percent; balance iron from about 50 to about 65 percent; and incidental impurities wherein the alloy contains a ratio of Cr/Mo of about 0.9 to about 1.1. The alloy can be used as a valve seat insert for combustion engines.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING NON-ORIENTED ELECTRICAL STEEL SHEET
A method for manufacturing a non-oriented electrical steel sheet includes a step of performing hot rolling on a steel material having a predetermined chemical composition, a step of performing first cold rolling, a step of performing process annealing, a step of performing second cold rolling, and a step of performing any one or both of final annealing and stress relief annealing. A final pass of finish rolling is performed in a temperature range equal to or higher than an Ar1 temperature, the steel sheet is held for 2 hours or less in a temperature range lower than an Ac1 temperature in the final annealing, and the steel sheet is held for 1200 sec or more in a temperature range equal to or higher than 600° C. and lower than the Ac1 temperature in the stress relief annealing.
STEEL SHEET AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
In the present invention, provided is a steel sheet having a predetermined chemical composition and a metallographic structure, in which A/B, which is a ratio of a length A of an interface between epitaxial ferrite and ferrite to a length B of an interface between the epitaxial ferrite and martensite in a cross section that is along a rolling direction and perpendicular to a surface of the steel sheet at a position of ¼ of a sheet thickness from the surface of the steel sheet is more than 1.5, a ratio of a major axis to a minor axis of the martensite is 5.0 or more, and a tensile strength is 980 MPa or more.
Method for the heat treatment of a part made from maraging steel
A method for the heat treatment of a part made of maraging steel, which part is obtained by selective laser melting, it comprises the steps of: heating the said part made of maraging steel from ambient temperature T0 to a maximum temperature Tmax of between 600° C. and 640° C., maintaining the said maximum temperature Tmax for a duration of between 5 hours and 7 hours, and rapidly cooling the said part.
FREE GRAPHITE CONTAINING POWDERS
An improved atomized powder metal material containing an increased amount of free graphite after heat treatment and/or sintering is provided. The powder metal material is typically a ferrous alloy and includes carbon in an amount of 1.0 wt. % to 6.5 wt. % and silicon in an amount of 0.1 wt. % to 6.0 wt. %, based on the total weight of the powder metal material. The powder metal material can also include various other alloying elements, for example at least one of nickel (Ni), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), tin (Sn), aluminum (Al), sulfur (S), phosphorous (P), boron (B), nitrogen (N), chromium (Cr), manganese (Mn), molybdenum (Mo), vanadium (V), niobium (Nb), tungsten (W), titanium (Ti), tantalum (Ta) zirconium (Zr), zinc (Zn), strontium (Sr), calcium (Ca), barium (Ba) magnesium (Mg), lithium (Li), sodium (Na), and potassium (K).
Hot-rolled steel sheet and method for manufacturing same
This hot-rolled steel sheet has a predetermined chemical composition, in which in a case where the thickness is denoted by t, a metallographic structure at a t/4 position from the surface includes, by area fraction, 77.0% to 97.0% of bainite or tempered martensite, 0% to 5.0% of ferrite, 0% to 5.0% of pearlite, 3.0% or more of residual austenite, and 0% to 10.0% of martensite, in the metallographic structure, the average grain size excluding the residual austenite is 7.0 μm or less, the average number density of iron-based carbides having a diameter of 20 nm or more is 1.0×10.sup.6 carbides/mm.sup.2 or more, a tensile strength is 980 MPa or more, and an average Ni concentration on the surface is 7.0% or more.
