Coated filament for improved additive manufacturing parts

A coated filament for use in additive manufacturing includes a base polymer layer formed of a base polymer material and a coating polymer layer formed of a coating polymer material. At least the coating polymer material is susceptible to dielectric heating in response to electromagnetic radiation, thereby promoting fusion between adjacent beads of coated filament that are deposited during the additive manufacturing process. Specifically, when electromagnetic radiation is applied to an interface area between two adjacent beads of the coated filament, the polymer coating layer melts to diffuse across the interface area, thereby preventing formation of voids. The base polymer material and the coating polymer material of the coated filament also may have similar melting points and compatible solubility parameters to further promote fusion between beads.

A deodorant and antibacterial copper nanofiber yarn and a manufacturing method thereof are provided, the manufacturing method including: providing a raw material, including a polyblend slurry, a nano-metal solution, a plurality of inorganic particles, and a plurality of TPU rubber particles; stirring the raw material into a mixed material; making second metal contact the first metal ion fiber to cause the first metal ion to undergo a reduction reaction to obtain a copper nanofiber yarn; drying the mixed material; performing hot-melt spinning on the mixed material, the plurality of TPU rubber particles, after being hot-melted, being coated on an outer peripheral side of the spun wire to form a first-phase wire; forcibly cooling the first-phase wire; stretching the first-phase wire; air-cooling the first-phase wire to form a second-phase wire; and collecting the second-phase wire to make the wire into a finished deodorant and antibacterial copper nanofiber yarn.

Fiber masterbatch and melt spun fiber

A fiber masterbatch including a polyetherimide, a polyethylene terephthalate, and a polyimide is provided. A glass transition temperature of the polyimide is between 140° C. and 170° C., a 10% thermogravimetric loss temperature of the polyimide is between 500° C. and 550° C., and when the polyimide is dissolved in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and a solid content of the polyimide is 15 wt %, a viscosity of the polyimide is between 80 cP and 230 cP. A melt spun fiber obtained by using the fiber masterbatch is also provided.

A fiber masterbatch including a polyetherimide, a polyethylene terephthalate, and a polyimide is provided. A glass transition temperature of the polyimide is between 140° C. and 170° C., a 10% thermogravimetric loss temperature of the polyimide is between 500° C. and 550° C., and when the polyimide is dissolved in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and a solid content of the polyimide is 15 wt %, a viscosity of the polyimide is between 80 cP and 230 cP. A melt spun fiber obtained by using the fiber masterbatch is also provided.

A fiber can be made having a structure with an axial core and a coating layer. The fiber can have a polymer core and one or two layers surrounding the core. The fine fiber can be made from a polymer material and a resinous aldehyde composition such that the general structure of the fiber has a polymer core surrounded by at least a layer of the resinous aldehyde composition.

Fusible bicomponent spandex

Included are multiple component elastic fibers prepared by a solution-spinning process such as dry spinning or wet spinner of spandex fibers including polyurethaneurea and polyurethane compositions. These fibers have a cross-section including at least two separate regions with definable boundaries wherein at least one region defined by the boundaries of the cross-section includes a polyurethaneurea or polyurethane composition. One region of the fiber includes a fusibility improvement additive to enhance adhesion to itself or to a substrate.

Fusible bicomponent spandex

Included are multiple component elastic fibers prepared by a solution-spinning process such as dry spinning or wet spinner of spandex fibers including polyurethaneurea and polyurethane compositions. These fibers have a cross-section including at least two separate regions with definable boundaries wherein at least one region defined by the boundaries of the cross-section includes a polyurethaneurea or polyurethane composition. One region of the fiber includes a fusibility improvement additive to enhance adhesion to itself or to a substrate.

Hydrophobic nano-silica mixed thermoplastic polyurethane coated yarn

A thermoplastic polyurethane coated yarn having excellent adhesive strength in which hydrophobic nano-silica is mixed. The nano-silica is contained in the range of 0.2-5 parts per hundred resin (phr) and the nano-silica having a primary particle size of in a range of 1-100 nm. The thermoplastic polyurethane coating yarn mixed with the hydrophobic nano-silica of the present invention is uniformly coated with a thermoplastic polyurethane resin containing nano-silica containing a hydrophobic functional group on the surface of the core yarn, whereby the core yarn is biased to one side. Since no coating or uncoating occurs, the product quality and productivity are excellent, in addition to excellent durability and wear resistance of the thermoplastic polyurethane, mechanical strength and chemical resistance are improved.
