SKIN MATERIAL, INTERIOR MATERIAL, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING INTERIOR MATERIAL

For the purpose of providing a skin material that is easily bonded to a base material, an interior material including the skin material, and a method for manufacturing the interior material, a skin material includes a base cloth layer and a design layer. The base cloth layer includes a surface fabric and a back fabric, and a binding yarn that binds the surface fabric and the back fabric. The binding yarn is erected between the surface fabric and the back fabric to form a void inside the base cloth layer. An embossed pattern is formed in a concave shape on the skin material from the design layer side. A thin portion is formed in a band shape in a peripheral edge portion of the skin material. The skin material is bonded to the base material to obtain an interior material.

Impregnated cloth

A knitted spacer fabric has a tightly knitted bottom layer, a more loosely knitted upper layer and linking fibres extending across the space between the lower and upper faces. Settable material, e.g. cement, is introduced into the space between the upper and lower faces and can be caused to set by the addition of a liquid, e.g. water. Until set, the fabric is flexible and can be shaped but after the material in space has set, the fabric is rigid and can be used as a structural element in a wide range of situations. The bottom layer has an extension that extends beyond the upper face and is connected to the upper face by elastic connecting fibres that draw the extension towards the other face, thereby at least partly closing the space at the edge of the cloth and preventing the settable material from spilling out. In addition, the packing of the settable material and maximum space between the faces are such that only a predetermined amount of liquid can be accommodated within the space and that amount is matched to the water required to set the cement.

A spacer fabric has two textile layers and spacer yarns that transversely connect the textile layers and where the yarns forming the textile layers are composed exclusively of a nonmetallic material. In addition, at least a first portion of the spacer yarns is composed of metallic yarn, and a weight of all metallic spacer yarns is between 40 and 96% relative to the total weight of the spacer fabric.

A warp knit component that includes a first front weft inlaid yarn that extends through one or more loops in a first warp knit course, and after extending through the one or more loops, the first front weft inlaid yarn extends as a float positioned on a technical face or front side of the warp knit component. After extending as the float, the first front weft inlaid yarn extends through one or more loops in a second warp knit course that is offset in the material flow direction from the first warp knit course. Using floats facilitates the advancement of the first front weft inlaid yarn in the material flow direction.
