Extended tub for a laundry treating appliance
A laundry treating appliance having a rotatable basket that defines a treating chamber, a tub for mounting the rotatable basket, a drive assembly mounted to the tub for rotating the basket and a drive motor mounted to the tub for driving the drive assembly. The tub has a lower region comprising a central cavity and a second cavity. The drive assembly is nested in the central cavity and the drive motor is nested in the second cavity for reducing the vertical stack of tub and the motor.
Method of determining volume of water to add to first and second washing compartments of a washing machine as a function of determined moment of inertia
A washing machine includes a first washing compartment to hold a first set of articles to be washed and a second washing compartment to holds a second set of articles to be washed, the second washing compartment having an inserted position and a removed position. A liquid flow valve is configured to connect to an external liquid source to selectively control flow of liquid from the external liquid source and into one or more of the first washing compartment and the second washing compartment. An electric motor is configured to rotate the first washing compartment, and the second washing compartment, when the second washing compartment is in the inserted position. A controller, in communication with the electric motor, determines a mass of the second set of articles and then determines, as a function of the determined mass, a volume of water to be added to the second washing compartment.
Washing machine
Disclosed herein is a washing machine. The washing machine includes a main body having a laundry inlet on the front portion, a tub provided inside the main body to store water, a drum rotatably installed inside the tub, a pulsator provided inside the drum and configured to be rotatable with respect to the drum, a first driving motor to provide power to the pulsator, and a second driving motor to provide power to the drum.
Planetary gear assembly for drum washing machine and drum washing machine
A planetary gear assembly for a drum washing machine and a washing machine are provided. The planetary gear assembly includes a planetary gear component. The planetary gear component includes a planet carrier, a plurality of planetary gears rotatably mounted to the planet carrier separately and configured to be meshed with a main shaft separately, the main shaft being configured to drive a drum to rotate in a drum washing machine; and a planetary gear outer teeth casing fitted over an outer side of the plurality of planetary gears, meshed with the plurality of planetary gears separately, and configured to be in transmission connection with an agitator in the drum.
STABILIZER FOR A ROTATABLE DRUM
The invention is directed to a rotatable drum for a washing machine or similar equipment. Embodiments of the invention include an outer drum, a rotatable inner drum, and a stabilization assembly coupled to the outer drum and the rotatable inner drum.
Laundry treating apparatus
In a laundry treating apparatus, flat surfaces are installed at both sides of a tub for storing water therein, so that a spacing between each of the both sides of the tub and each side of a cabinet is smaller than a spacing between a lower surface of the tub and a bottom of the cabinet. Further, a control panel is disposed between the lower surface of the tub and the bottom of the cabinet.

DRIVING DEVICE AND CLOTHING TREATMENT DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME
A driving device including a stator; a rotor including a rotor frame and provided to be rotatable about a rotational axis of a clothing treatment device through interaction with the stator; and a clutch including a movable member configured to slide along the rotational axis to be selectively coupled to the rotor according to an operation mode of the clothing treatment device. The rotor frame may include a plurality of holes, and a plurality of coupling protrusions protruding toward the clutch so as to be coupled with the movable member when the movable member is slid to be coupled to the rotor. The plurality of coupling protrusions are integrally formed with the rotor frame and punched out of the rotor frame to form the plurality of holes.
Method of controlling washing machine
A method of controlling a washing machine includes spraying water into a drum through a direct water nozzle, rotating the drum at a spin-dry rinse speed, draining water from a tub while rotating the drum at the spin-dry rinse speed, supplying water to the tub to increase a water level in the tub, circulating water in the tub to spray circulated water into the drum through a circulation nozzle, rotating the drum at a laundry adherence speed lower than the spin-dry rinse speed, and in a state in which draining water from the tub and spraying the circulated water are stopped and at least a portion of the drum is disposed below the water level in the tub, accelerating the drum from the laundry adherence speed to a first tub cleaning speed.
Fluid delivery system for a front-load washing appliance for delivering fluid to lifters of the drum
A front-load laundry appliance includes a drum that is rotationally operable within a tub about a generally horizontal rotational axis. A plurality of lifters are coupled to an interior surface of the drum. A fluid delivery path is at least partially defined within the drum and the plurality of lifters. A fluid delivery system delivers fluid into the fluid delivery path in a direction parallel to the generally horizontal rotational axis.
