Flame resistant finished fabrics exhibiting water repellency and methods for making the same
Fabrics that are exhibit water repellency, abrasion resistance, and optionally flame resistance are described herein. The fabrics include a plurality of fibers (such as flame resistant fibers) and a finish that imparts water repellency and abrasion resistance to the fibers. The fabrics are free or substantially free from alkylfluoropolymers. Also described herein are garments including the fabrics.

PRODUCTION OF FIBER WEBS USING AIRLAID NONWOVENS
Nonwoven fiber webs are produced by spraying one or more aqueous binder formulations containing one or more polymers selected from the group of vinyl ester polymers and (meth)acrylic ester polymers, and in a separate step, spraying one or more aqueous silicone formulations containing one or more polysiloxanes, onto the surface of an airlaid nonwoven.

MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR CARBON FIBER
A manufacturing method for a carbon fiber includes: performing an emulsification step that includes uniformly mixing a silicone oil composition and an emulsifier to form an oiling agent, in which the silicone oil composition includes γ-divinyltriamine propylmethyldimethoxyl silane and N-(β-aminoethyl)-γ-aminopropylmethylbimethoxy silane; performing an oiling step that includes soaking a carbon raw filament in the oiling agent, such that the oiling agent is adhered to a surface of the carbon raw filament to form a carbon fiber precursor; and performing a calcination step on the carbon fiber precursor, such that the carbon fiber is formed.
NON-FLUOROCARBON LAUNDRY TREATMENT PROVIDING ENHANCED FLUID REPELLENCY
Non-fluorocarbon compositions for providing enhanced fluid repellency on various surfaces, including for laundry treatments in a finishing step of a laundry process, are disclosed. Non-fluorocarbon laundry treatment compositions and compositions including the non-fluorocarbon chemistries and a substrate surface are also disclosed along with methods of using the same in a laundry application.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A PRODUCT PROVIDED WITH A CAVITY, PRODUCT AND SYSTEM FOR THE MANUFACTURE THEREOF
The product manufactured according to the method is waterproof and provided with a cavity, such as a glove, shoe, or a backpack. Initially, a structure is made in the shape of the product by stitching portions of a laminated material attached together by corresponding seams. The stitched structure is then turned inside out and a thermally-curable silicone compound material, in uncured liquid state, is applied on the seams. The structure with applications is then simultaneously subjected to heating with a curing temperature of the material, and to a vacuum operation with pumping means that suck in air from outside the structure with applications into the structure and extract it outside. The invention also relates to a system for manufacturing according to the method.
