DOUBLE-SHEATHED STRUCTURAL CABLE
The structural cable (10) comprises a bundle of load-bearing tendons (15) extending between upper and lower anchoring devices, a first sheath (20) containing the bundle of tendons, and a second sheath (22) arranged around the first sheath, with a gap between the first and second sheaths.
DUAL-SHEATH STRUCTURAL CABLE
A structural cable of a construction work. The structural cable comprises: a bundle of load-bearing tendons (20), a first sheath (26) containing the bundle of tendons, a second sheath (28) arranged around the first sheath, the second sheath comprising windows (31), and a plurality of light-radiating modules (46) configured to radiate light, each light-radiating module being arranged within the structural cable to radiate light through at least one window outwardly relative to the structural cable.
WEAR DETECTION OF ELEVATOR BELT
A belt includes one or more tension members extending along a length of the belt, a jacket at least partially enclosing the plurality of tension members, and one or more layers of one or more of a fluorescent, absorbing, or reflecting material located in the belt such that when subjected to a light source, an indication of fluorescence or absorbance or reflection of the one or more layers of fluorescent or absorbent or reflective materials is indicative of a wear condition of the belt.
GUY GUARD WITH REFLECTIVE MATERIAL AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
The apparatus has a tube having an exterior tube surface, the exterior tube surface defining one or more grooves. The apparatus further has a portion occupying each of the one or more grooves and integrally formed with the tube. The portion is adapted to reflect light in the visible spectrum. The tube and the portion together define a guy guard. A method and system for forming the apparatus are also disclosed.
RETROREFLECTIVE, ELONGATED, FILAMENTOUS PRODUCT, PROCESS FOR MAKING THE SAME, USES THEREOF AND PRODUCTS MADE THEREFROM
The present invention relates to a retroreflective, elongated, filamentous product, comprising a core of non-metallic filamentous material; a first polymer matrix layer comprising a polymer resin, located around an outer peripheral surface of, and penetrating into, the core of non/metallic filamentous material; a reflective material located on an outer peripheral surface of said first polymer matrix layer; a second polymer matrix layer comprising a polymer resin, forming a primer layer on top of said reflective material; and a plurality of refractive microparticles distributed in said second polymer matrix primer layer, wherein said plurality of refractive microparticles is partially embedded in said second polymer matrix primer layer. A process for making the product and uses thereof are also disclosed.
Tethers for airborne wind turbines
A tether may include a core, a plurality of electrical conductors wound around the core, and a jacket surrounding the plurality of electrical conductors. The plurality of electrical conductors may include at least two groups of electrical conductors. Each group of electrical conductors of the at least two groups of electrical conductors may define a respective electrical path, where the respective electrical path is different from the electrical paths defined by other groups of electrical conductors of the at least two groups of the electrical conductors. Moreover, each group of electrical conductors of the at least two groups of electrical conductors is located around a respective portion of the core, such that a cross-section of each group of electrical conductors of the at least two or more electrical conductors defines a respective arc around the respective portion of the core.
Braided, reflective textile sleeve and method of construction thereof
A braided textile sleeve having a flexible, seamless, reflective tubular wall and method of construction thereof are provided. The tubular wall extends along a longitudinal axis between opposite open ends and includes a first set of yarns and a second set of yarns braided with one another. The first and second yarns are provided as different types of yarns from one another and are braided in opposite helical directions with one another. The tubular wall includes a third set of yarns captured between the first and second sets of yarns, with the third set of yarns extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. The sleeve includes a reflective outer layer fixed to an outer surface of the braided yarns.
COUPLING DEVICE
A coupling device comprising a flexible elongate member of at least one length of an at least twice wound rope and a pin configured to be removably engaged with the flexible elongate member, wherein the flexible elongate member is formed as a loop or a part loop completing the loop with the pin, wherein at least one winding of rope is of disparate length to at least one other winding.
