SHEAR BAND CONSTRUCTION

A shear band for a tire includes an annular first, radially outer fabric layer extending circumferentially around the tire; and an annular second, radially inner fabric layer extending circumferentially around the tire. The shear band is formed from a single shear band strip helically wound circumferentially and axially with a first edge of the shear band strip. The first edge of the shear band strip has a first extension flap for engaging an opposite second edge of the shear band strip. The first extension flap is continuously secured to the opposite second edge linearly along the opposite second edge of the shear band strip.

According to one or more embodiments, a three-dimensional spacer fabric comprises a first knit layer, a second knit layer and monofilament spacer yarns extending between and connecting the first and second knit layers. The first knit layer comprises pillar stitches and lay in stitches working together to form the first knit layer and the second knit layer comprising a mesh fabric formed of a mirrored stitch formation. The spacer fabric has a compression force deflection, as measured by ISO3386-1, in the machine direction (MD) of 10 to 15 kPa. The spacer fabric can be secured to a trim material to form a trim cover.

Spacing knitted fabric and method for producing a spacing knitted fabric

A spacing knitted fabric has a first and a second flat knitted fabric layer that are connected to each other by incorporated spacing threads. The first knitted fabric layer has mesh-forming loop threads made from thermoplastic plastic and non-mesh-forming additional threads made of thermoplastic plastic. In the first knitted fabric layer, only the additional threads are at least partially melted and due to the at least partial melting, causing a reinforcement of the first knitted fabric layer.

Article of apparel with material elements having a reversible structure

An article of apparel is disclosed that is at least partially formed from a material element having a substrate and a plurality of projections. The substrate has a first surface and an opposite second surface. The projections extend from the first surface of the substrate, and the projections each have terminal ends located opposite the substrate. The material element has a first permeability when the first surface has a convex configuration, and the material element has a second permeability when the first surface has a concave configuration, the first permeability being greater than the second permeability. The apparel may be reversible such that either the first surface or the second surface of the substrate faces outward.

ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR INCORPORATING A KNITTED COMPONENT WITH TENSILE STRAND

A shoe including: an upper that includes a first layer made of knitted fabric and a second layer made of knitted fabric arranged inside the first layer, wherein at least one of the first layer and the second layer includes first yarns and second yarns as yarns for forming the knitted fabric, wherein the first yarns have a heat shrinkability, wherein the second yarns have a higher fusion point than that of the first yarns, and wherein the at least one of the first layer and the second layer including the first yarns and the second yarns has a higher heat shrinkage rate in a width direction than in a longitudinal direction.

Textiles and methods of making the same

Various aspects disclosed relate to structures such as a textile, a garment, a garment component, footwear, or a footwear component. The present disclosure includes the structure having a first region having one of more first fibers. An individual first fiber includes co-extruded first and second filaments, the first filament formed of a first thermoplastic polymeric material. Due to expansion or contraction of the one or more first fibers, the first region contracts or expands on a change in relative humidity, relative to an equilibrium state of the first region prior to the change in relative humidity.
