ASSEMBLIES OF FIBERS AND INORGANIC PARTICLES
20230069108 · 2023-03-02 ·

The present invention aims to provide a technique for hindering inorganic particles from dropping from fibers even in contact with a liquid. According to the present invention, inorganic particles can be hindered from dropping from fibers even in contact with a liquid by adding carboxymethyl cellulose or a salt thereof.

Sulfonated Lignin-Derived Compounds and uses Thereof

The present invention relates to novel lignin-derived compounds and compositions comprising the same and their use as redox flow battery electrolytes. The invention further provides a method for preparing said compounds and compositions as well as a redox flow battery comprising said compounds and compositions. Additionally, an assembly for carrying out the inventive method is provided.

Sheet forming binder, container, sheet forming apparatus, sheet forming method, and powder set

A sheet forming binder includes a first powder and a second powder having a larger volume average particle size than the first powder. The proportion of the first powder is 10.0% by mass or more relative to the total mass of the first powder and the second powder.

ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE SHIELD SHEET MANUFACTURING METHOD AND ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE SHIELD SHEET

A method of producing an electromagnetic wave shielding sheet by which an electromagnetic wave shielding sheet having a high shielding property against an electromagnetic wave and having low cost is produced. The method of producing an electromagnetic wave shielding sheet includes; preparing a dispersion containing carbon nanotubes, an inorganic pigment, carboxymethyl cellulose, and water; and drying the dispersion. In the dispersion, a ratio of a mass of the inorganic pigment to a mass of the carbon nanotubes is 1/4 or more and 1 or less

Wrapper Paper for Smoking Articles, with Improved Ash Formation
20230136404 · 2023-05-04 ·

The invention relates to a wrapper paper for smoking articles, comprising cellulose fibres loaded with calcium carbonate particles, wherein the mass of the cellulose fibres loaded with calcium carbonate particles is at least 1% of the mass of the wrapper paper, and the calcium carbonate particles in the cellulose fibres loaded with calcium carbonate particles make up at least 5% and no more than 80% of the mass of the cellulose fibres loaded with calcium carbonate particles.

TREATMENT OF CALCIUM CARBONATE CONTAINING MATERIALS FOR INCREASED FILLER LOAD IN PAPER

The present invention concerns a process for preparing self-binding pigment particles from an aqueous suspension of calcium carbonate containing material, wherein an anionic binder and at least one cationic polymer are mixed with the suspension.

METHOD FOR OBTAINING A FIBROUS PREPARATION FOR IMMERSION-RESISTANT OPAQUE PAPER

A method for obtaining a fibrous preparation for manufacturing a paper having significant water repellency and opacity in the dry or wet state. Fibres are suspended in water; calcium salts are added to the fibres; a source of carbonate salts in the form of an aqueous solution are added and the resulting mixture is stirred for a time sufficient to allow calcium carbonate particles to be precipitated. A solution of fatty acid salts heated to a temperature which corresponds to the micellisation temperature of said fatty acid salts is added and takes into account the critical micellar concentration of the fatty acid salts. The mixture is stirred thus obtained for a time sufficient to allow the fatty acids to be absorbed at the surface of the calcium carbonate particles and to obtain the desired fibrous preparation.

METHOD OF PRODUCING A FILLER
20170335519 · 2017-11-23 ·

The invention discloses a method of producing a filler composition to be used in paper or board production, said method comprising providing a suspension comprising calcium hydroxide and performing carbonation of the calcium hydroxide to form precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC). The invention is characterized in that starch and/or carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) is added to the suspension during said carbonation of calcium hydroxide. The method of the invention enables an increased filler content in paper or paperboard without substantially increasing the dusting tendency or decreasing the strength of the paper or board.
