Marker installation method and marker installation system

An installation system has a laser range finder set at a reference position to measure a distance to a target, an installation cart which performs operation for laying a magnetic marker in a road, and an arithmetic unit which identifies a position relation of a laying position where the magnetic marker is laid with respect to the reference position. When operation for laying the magnetic marker in a road is performed, by taking the installation cart during performing the operation of laying the magnetic marker in the road as a target, based on a distance to the installation cart measured by the laser range finder, the position relation of the laying position with respect to the reference position is identified by the arithmetic unit.

Magnetic marker installation method and work system

In an installation method for laying magnetic markers (10) in a road for driving assist control on a vehicle side, a laying work vehicle (2) sequentially lays the magnetic markers (10) while moving along the road without performing a prior survey or the like of laying positions, and then by using a positioning work vehicle (3) including a magnetic sensor capable of detecting magnetism, the laid magnetic markers (10) are detected and the laying positions are identified to generate position data regarding the magnetic markers (10), thereby allowing reduction of cost of laying the magnetic markers (10).

ROAD TAPING MACHINE

A road taping machine is configured to unspool road marking tape from a spool and tamp that tape onto pavement via a tamping roller. Tape is cut using a blade assembly, and aligned with several alignment rollers. A pivot arm permits a subset of the alignment rollers to displace, allowing slack in the tape to be taken in during cutting such that taping can occur continuously, despite cuts. The spool is housed on an axle anchored to a support arm that can be actuated between an elevated position for loading, and a depressed position for taping. A taping section of the machine is laterally displaceable relative to a drive section via a displacement plate, to permit taping of laterally remote locations. The machine can support multiple spools, including spools with tape paths that bypass the blade assembly.

Magnetic marker, magnetic marker retaining method, work apparatus for magnetic markers, and magnetic marker installation method

A magnetic marker retaining method that includes placing a plurality of sheet-shaped magnetic markers on a surface of a band-shaped carrier sheet, the plurality of sheet-shaped magnetic markers being so as to be spaced in a longitudinal direction of the band-shaped carrier sheet; and retaining the plurality of sheet-shaped magnetic markers in a state of a roll body with the band-shaped carrier sheet rolled up in a roll shape, the band-shaped carrier sheet being rolled up such that each surface of the plurality of sheet-shaped magnetic markers directly contacts the other side of the surface of the band-shaped carrier sheet, on which the plurality of sheet-shaped magnetic markers are placed, and the plurality of sheet-shaped magnetic markers being to be laid on a road.

Non-ridable and non-motorized machines for removing temporary tape that include a chassis or frame having front and rear wheels, a vertical support post mounted on the frame or chassis between the front and rear wheels, a horizontal arm mounted on the vertical support post, and a rotatable spool assembly attached to one end of the horizontal arm for winding used temporary tape thereon, wherein the horizontal arm is rotatably coupled to the vertical support to allow the spool assembly to be positioned on either side of the chassis when the horizontal arm is rotated with respect to the vertical support post. The non-ridable temporary tape removal machine can be manually and guided along a pavement during a tape removal operation. The non-motorized temporary tape removal machines can be or coupled to an auxiliary motorized device that pushes the non-motorized temporary tape removal machine during a tape removal operation.

Ground tape applicator apparatus and method

A ground tape applicator is configured to apply adhesive tape to ground surfacers. The ground tape applicator includes a plurality of rollers that guide the adhesive tape to the ground surface and apply the adhesive tape to the ground surface. The ground tape applicator includes a blade configured to engage with the adhesive tape to cut the adhesive tape to a desired length.

System for monitoring application of roadway marking tape

A system for monitoring physical and/or environmental conditions during application of roadway marking tape. The system includes a data logging system that is operative to monitor one or more environmental parameters and geographical location during application of roadway marking tape. The data logging system generates a record of the parameters indexed to location. The record may be used to ensure application compliance and/or allow a user to alter one or more application parameters to ensure application compliance.
