Shock Absorbing Retractable Bollard Systems
A barrier system includes a handrail, and a connector to couple the handrail to a post extension that extends upward from a floor. The handrail has and end with a width measured in a direction transverse to an elongate length of the handrail. The connector includes a socket to hold the end of the handrail. The socket is defined by an elongate channel that extends in a direction substantially parallel to the post extension when the connector is attached to the post extension. The channel has a length that is greater than the width of the end of the handrail.
Shock absorbing retractable bollard systems
A bollard system includes a post extension to extend upward from a floor, a first collar to encircle the post extension, a first connector to encircle the post extension adjacent to the first collar, and a first handrail to be connected to the first connector. The bollard system includes a second connector to encircle the post extension adjacent to the first connector, a second handrail to be connected to the second connector, and a second collar to encircle the post extension adjacent to the second connector. The first collar is invertible selectively to a first lock position and a first release position, the first connector having greater freedom to rotate relative to the first collar when the first collar is in the first release position than when the first collar is in the first lock position.
Actuator for security gates
A security gate actuator includes a main ball screw, a main ball nut, and a drive shaft stage. The main ball screw may further include a circular channel disposed on an outer surface of the main ball screw and at least one drive ball disposed in the circular channel. The main ball nut may be disposed on the main threads of the main ball screw and configured to translate rotational motion of the main ball screw to linear motion of the main ball nut. The drive shaft stage may include a drive shaft end and a drive shaft tube attached to the drive shaft end, the drive shaft end coupled to the main ball nut. The drive ball may push against the drive shaft tube to translate the rotational motion of the main ball screw to rotational motion of the drive shaft tube.
ANTI-RAM CRASH GATE
An exemplary crash gate to guard against motor vehicles crossing a roadway in a direction from an attack side to a protected side including a buttress post assembly secured below ground in a first concrete foundation on a side of the roadway, the buttress post assembly having two buttress posts forming a barrier passage, a latch post assembly secured below the ground in a second concrete foundation on an opposite side of the roadway, the latch post assembly having two latch posts forming a latch gap, a barrier with a gate beam disposed in the barrier passage and extending from a buttress end to a latch end, and one of a vertical pin or a hook connected to the latch post assembly and positioned in the latch gap and the other one of the vertical pin or the hook located on the latch end, when the barrier is in a closed position the latch end is located in the latch gap and the vertical pin is positioned outside of the hook.
Retractable speed bump and a method for retracting a speed bump
A retractable speed bump and a method for retracting a speed bump. The retractable speed bump may include a retractile element, a chassis, and a hydraulic mechanism. The hydraulic mechanism may include a hydraulic cylinder including a hollow cylindrical shape, a hydraulic piston including a solid cylindrical shape, a first connecting rod, an oil sealing member, a return spring, a spring retainer, and a floating gasket. Responsive to downward movement of the first connecting rod at a speed higher than a threshold, the hydraulic cylinder may prevent downward movement of the first connecting rod and responsive to downward movement of the first connecting rod at a speed lower than the threshold, the hydraulic cylinder may allow downward movement of the first connecting rod.
Anti-ram crash gate
An exemplary method associated with a crash gate configured to guard against motor vehicles crossing in a direction from an attack side to a protected side includes securing a buttress post assembly and a latch post assembly on opposite sides of a roadway, the buttress post assembly having two vertical buttress posts forming a barrier passage, the latch post assembly having two vertical latch posts forming a latch gap, and a vertical pin positioned in the latch gap; and mounting a moveable barrier in the barrier passage, the barrier including a rectangular frame with a horizontal gate beam extending from a buttress end to a latch end, the latch end including a hook open toward the protected side, wherein in a closed position the latch end is located in the latch gap.
BOLLARD DEVICE
Bollard device including a fixed part or frame, inserted in a horizontal plane to which a base plate with a hole is added, from which a movable part can slidably exit, that can take a retracted position, wherein the upper end is flush with said base plate and a projecting or extended position wherein the movable part extends beyond the plate to create an obstacle. The frame includes a plurality of metallic supports determining the realization of an underground housing for the movable part and guides by which it slides vertically, actuating element, housed either in the fixed part or in the movable part of the bollard device thus permitting the vertical movement of the movable part. The movable part includes a stem and a tubular coating put on said stem and constrained to the same by removable coupling element permitting to the coating to be removed.
ENERGY-ABSORBING VEHICLE BARRIER SYSTEM
An energy-absorbing vehicle barrier system is provided. The energy-absorbing vehicle barrier system provides a series of spaced apart barrier units, wherein adjacent barrier units are interconnected by a cable linkage, enabling the modularity that limits damage to the barrier system and facilitates segmented replacement. Each barrier unit provides a vertically spaced apart net of longitudinal cables, each longitudinal cable terminates adjacent the opposing end faces of its barrier unit in the form of a loop, protruding through the end face. The resulting column of spaced apart loops nest with the adjacent barrier unit's column of spaced apart loops in an aligned configuration so that a pin secures both sets of columns, providing the cable linkage. The barrier units are made from no fine concrete that crumbles upon collision so as to absorb energy. The system sits on a substructure also adapted to absorb the energy of a high-speed collision.
Actuator for security gates
A security gate actuator includes a main ball screw, a main ball nut, a drive shaft stage, and at least a drive ball. The main ball screw may further include a circular channel disposed on an outer surface of the main ball screw. The drive ball may be disposed in the circular channel of the main ball screw and push against the drive shaft tube to translate the rotational motion of the main ball screw to rotational motion of the drive shaft tube.
