Watertight flexible flood barrier system
Disclosed is an improved flexible flood barrier system for creating a watertight barrier. The system includes a novel hinged clamping bar assembly configured to engage a hem of the fabric flood barrier. The fabric flood barrier is comprised of a waterproof layer reinforced with Kevlar straps. The Kevlar straps are weaved together through slots in one of the layers without the need for stitching upon any of the waterproof layers. When deployed the improved fabric flood barrier system prevents storm surges from breaching the flexible flood barrier system at the attachment points.
PORTABLE WATER INFLATABLE BARRIER WITH ANCHORING SUPPORT BASE
A portable, water-filled barrier system includes a water-fillable module that is internally divided into cells that emulate a section of a sandbag dike or wall, the module being supported by a hollow frame including a base below the module and a rear wall behind the module. Holes allow flood water to enter the frame's interior. A peripheral base rim can surround and restrain the module. At least one brace can extend from behind the rear wall of the frame to underlying terrain, where it can be wedged or staked in place. The frame can be unitary or can comprise separate base and rear wall constructions that can be assembled to form the frame, for example by inserting a portion of one into a trough provided in the other. A fitting can extend between the assembled base and rear wall to allow water to flow between the hollow interiors.
Flood control system
A flood control system that is configured to be deployed so as to control floodwaters wherein the flood control system is provided in multi-cell configurations of modular receptacles. The flood control system includes a plurality of modular receptacles having four walls wherein the four walls are movably coupled so as to transition intermediate a folded position and a deployed position. The walls of the flood control system include a plurality of apertures and corner structures that are helical coil in shape. A locking pin is provided to be operably coupled intermediate modular receptacles so as to provide a mechanical connection therebetween. A liner is disposed within the interior volume of the modular receptacles and is mateable shaped therewith. A lid member is further included and is operable to cover the plurality of modular receptacles. The lid member further includes locking aperture rows so as to inhibit access.
Water Control Gate
A water control gate pivotable about a horizontal axis. Control may be by a combination of inflatable actuators and ballast chambers in combination with means for preventing over-rotation. Sealing between gate panels and between gate panels and abutments may be by means of seals inflated hydrostatically. The present invention is bottom hinged water control gate actuated by a combination of ballast chambers and inflatable actuators. The invention further includes an inflatable sealing means. The invention is particularly suited for use as a navigation lock gate system or as a flood control gate in a watercourse such as a navigation canal.
Portable water inflatable barrier with anchoring support base
A portable, water-filled barrier system includes a plurality of water-fillable modules, each module being internally divided into cells that emulate a section of a sandbag dike or wall. Automatic valves can seal openings between the filled cells, so that a punctured cell will not cause cells below and behind to deflate. A manifold can be used to simultaneously fill a plurality of modules. The barrier system further includes at least one anchoring support base having an underlying portion that extends under at least one of the modules. A vertical portion of the support base extends upward behind and abuts at least one of the modules, and an anchoring portion includes openings that enable attachment of the anchoring support base to the underlying ground by stakes and/or spikes. A flexible sheet can be installed beneath and in front of the assembled barrier to further inhibit horizontal displacement of the modules.
Inflatable dam and method thereof
Embodiments of an inflatable dam sized to be secured to a foundation structure with an anchor line. The inflatable dam includes a main bladder and an overlapping layer. The main bladder is moveable between deflated and inflated states such that, in the inflated state, the main bladder extends with a tubular configuration. The overlapping layer is sized and configured to extend over a portion of the main bladder and, in the inflated state, concentrically aligned with the portion of the main bladder. The overlapping layer is sized to extend with an overlapping length and to extend laterally between a first end portion and a second end portion along the overlapping length, the first end portion being coupled to the fin structure and the second end portion being configured to be coupled to the anchor line and the foundation structure.
Rigid retaining bag
Embodiments of the present invention relate to a bag including at least one flexible sheet of material, a back substantially orthogonal to a bottom, a front opposite the back, and a side comprising an envelope configured to receive a support structure.
METHOD AND SYSTEM OF ADAPTIVE LENSING FOR SEA WAVES
The present disclosure relates to a method of using a feedback loop from sensors to manipulate sea waves by applying concepts from optics interference and lensing. The method includes capturing, by one or more sensors, environmental data of an aquatic environment, wherein the environmental data relates to one or more of a wind speed, a wind direction, a wave pattern, a wave spectra, and a wave direction. The method includes analyzing, by one or more processors of a controller, the environmental data to identify a sensed environmental condition. Further, the method includes determining an optimal configuration of a wave interference device in the sensed environmental condition, wherein the controller is communicatively coupled to the wave interference device; and configuring the wave interference device to occupy the optimal configuration.
