SYSTEM FOR REDUCING CONTAMINANTS IN A BODY OF WATER
20210156101 · 2021-05-27 ·

A system for reducing contaminants in body of water is shown and described. The system has a first land mass located within a body of water. A sediment trap, located on the floor of the body of water, is configured to collect sediment. Enclosed within the first land mass is a tussock mass area, surrounding a central area, and configured for collecting sediment and building a second land mass. The central area of the system is configured for removing contaminants from sediment. Sediment is moved from the sediment trap to the central area by a first ingress conduit and a pumping system. Filtered water migrates from the central area to outside the first land mass via an egress conduit; contaminated sediment is sequestered in the central area enclosed by the tussock mass area.

Arrangement and method for separating out and removing screenings from wastewater

An apparatus for separating out and removing screenings from wastewater includes a screening device having a screen surface through which the wastewater flows during operation of the screening device and screenings carried along in the wastewater are at least intermittently retained. The apparatus includes a sensor and a controller. The sensor monitors the screenings in the area upstream from the screen surface and/or in the area of the screen surface. The controller outputs a message when the screenings have one or several properties which have been defined and have been recognized by the sensor. In addition, a method for operating the apparatus and a system including the apparatus are provided.

Cable winch arrangement

A cable winch arrangement (1) which includes at least one cable drum (2), which is mounted rotatably about a drum axis (3), for winding up and/or unwinding at least one cable (30-37), and a supporting structure (20), and a spindle drive (14) for displacing the cable drum (2) relative to the supporting structure (20), wherein the spindle drive (14) has a spindle (16) extending along a spindle axis (15), and a cable run-off point (6) of the at least one cable (30-37), at which the cable (30-37) runs tangentially onto and/or out from the cable drum (2), is at least substantially positionally fixed with respect to the supporting structure (20), and the spindle axis (15) is arranged coaxially with respect to the drum axis (3) of the cable drum (2).

Bar screen filter apparatus and method

Apparatus for removing debris from channeled water that includes a bar screen assembly. The assembly includes a plurality of spaced apart screen bars, each bar having an upstream edge and a downstream edge and distal ends to which U-shaped clips are attached. Each of the clips has a bar engaging portion and a cross member engaging portion that attaches to an associated cross member. The clips operate to space the trailing edge of the screen bars a predetermined distance from associated cross members and allow easy replacement of a bar. A continuous conveyor carries a plurality of rakes having a plurality of spaced apart tines which are adapted to fit between the screen bars as the rake is moved along the bars by the conveyor. The tines of the rake have a length that substantially spans the distance between the leading edge and trailing edge of a bar, so that tips of the rake tines extend to at least the trailing edge of an associated bar. Intermediate clips may be used to support the intermediate section of the screen bars.

Device for separating and lifting solids from waste water

A device for separating and lifting solids from waste water has a stationary drum provided with a first filter screen and a screw conveyor. An auger shaft has a lower portion located inside the stationary drum, which is partially surrounded by a second filter screen. The lower portion is connected to a cleaning apparatus of the first filter screen formed by a plurality of comb-holder arms mounted on a cross shaped element. The comb-holder arms are integral at the opposite end to an anti-skid ring sliding in a sliding seat integral with the support frame. Each comb-holder arm has an elongated comb facing the first filter screen and in contact with the first filter screen. The comb-holder arms are connected to the auger shaft by an epicyclic secondary gear.

MATERIAL TRANSFER SYSTEM FOR A BODY OF WATER

There is provided a material transfer system including a reciprocating conveyor which selectively moves in a first direction of movement and a second direction of movement opposite the first direction of movement. The conveyor is configured to promote movement of material in the first direction and inhibit movement of material in the second direction.

There is further provided a material transfer system comprising a first reciprocating conveyor which selectively moves material towards a first location. The system includes a second reciprocating conveyor which overlaps with the first reciprocating conveyor. The second reciprocating conveyor selectively moves material from the first location towards a second location.

There is also provided a material transfer system comprising a passageway having an upstream inlet and a downstream outlet. The passageway may be a conduit, a siphon or chute. The system includes a reciprocating conveyor conveying fluvial material towards the inlet of the passageway.

Water intake floating row cleaning system and construction method thereof

The invention relates to a water intake floating row cleaning system, including first vertical guide rail assemblies, a floating row, submersible pumps, water spraying assemblies, second vertical guide rail assemblies, floating fences and pumping assemblies, wherein the water spraying assemblies are communicated with the submersible pumps, and the submersible pumps pump the water of the river channel and spray the water towards the outside through the water spraying assemblies; and the floating fences stretch across the water intakes and float along with a water level, and the pumping assemblies are used for pumping out garbage blocked by the floating fences. The invention has the effect of efficiently cleaning the floating garbage at the water intakes.

Fine mesh fish larvae protection system for traveling water screens

A traveling water screen comprises a basket having a frame including an upper portion, a lower portion, and side portions, a coarse screen secured to the frame, a fine screen overlay attachable to the coarse screen, and a bucket portion secured to a lower portion of the frame, comprising an inner wall surface, and at least one deflector secured to the inner wall surface.
