VALVE SYSTEMS AND METHOD FOR ENHANCED GRADING CONTROL
A valve system, including first, second, third and fourth ports, a first flow path connecting the first and second ports, a second flow path connecting the third and fourth ports, with valves connected in the first and second flow paths, and energizable to block the same. A third flow path connects the first and second ports and a fourth flow path connects the third and fourth ports. The third and fourth flow paths are more restricted than the respective first and second flow paths. A fifth flow path connects the first and fourth ports and a sixth flow path connects the second and third ports. When the third and fourth flow paths are open, the first, second, fifth, and sixth flow paths are blocked. When the first and second flow paths are open, the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth flow paths are blocked. When the fifth and sixth flow paths are open, the first, second, third, and fourth, flow paths are blocked.
Augmentation of a dynamic terrain surface
In one embodiment, an augmented view is generated that accounts for dynamically changing terrain surface at a site. A sensor captures live georeferenced terrain surface topography for the site. A camera captures an image of the site. Further, a tracking system determines a georeferenced camera pose of the camera. An augmented reality application aligns a georeferenced three-dimensional (3-D) model for the site with the live georeferenced terrain surface topography. Then, using at least the captured image, the georeferenced camera pose, the georeferenced 3-D model and live georeferenced terrain surface topography, the augmented reality application creates an augmented view of the site that shows graphical representations of subsurface features. At least a portion of the graphical representations are dynamically conformed to the contours of the terrain surface in the image based on the live georeferenced terrain surface topography. The graphical representations may include virtual excavation and/or virtual paint markings.
WORKING VEHICLE
A working vehicle includes a vehicle main body to which a tire is mounted, an excavation member coupled to the vehicle main body on a front side of the vehicle main body and that includes an end part arranged on an outer side of the tire in a vehicle-width direction of the vehicle main body, a hydraulic cylinder arranged at a center part in the vehicle-width direction and that is to move the excavation member, a housing that houses a power transmission mechanism to transmit power to the tire, and a camera supported by a part of the vehicle main body on a lower side of the hydraulic cylinder and on an upper side of the housing and that acquires an image of a region that includes end parts on both sides of the excavation member and that is between the excavation member and the tire.
Apparatus and method for enhanced grading control
A method of operating a digging machine, including damping the response of a boom hydraulic cylinder operationally connected to a boom arm and actuating a bucket hydraulic cylinder operationally connected to a bucket.
ROADWAY ACCESS HOLE CUTTER AND METHOD OF CUTTING A SQUARE OR RECTANGULAR ROADWAY ACCESS HOLE
A roadway access hole drill for cutting a square or rectangular access hole in a roadway having a first saw opposing a second saw and a third saw opposing a fourth saw. A method of cutting a microtrench in which the buried utility is exposed by opening a square or rectangular access hole in a roadway above the buried utility using the roadway access hole drill that is controlled by a computer system connected to an under-roadway detection unit that detects a buried utility and stops movement of the drill to avoid damaging the buried utility.
Augmented loader controls
Disclosed embodiments include power machines or loaders, and systems used on loaders, configured to augment the control of the loader to accomplish repetitive tasks. Also disclosed are methods of learning a task for augmented control of a loader, and methods of controlling a loader to perform a learned task to provide augmented control of the loader.
ROADWAY ACCESS HOLE CUTTER HAVING A UTILITY AVOIDANCE SAFETY DEVICE, METHOD OF CUTTING A HOLE IN A ROADWAY, METHOD OF CUTTING A HORIZONTAL HOLE UNDER A ROADWAY
A method of cutting a microtrench in which the buried utility is exposed by opening an access hole in a roadway above the buried utility using a roadway access hole drill that is controlled by a computer system connected to an under-roadway detection unit that detects a buried utility and stops movement of the drill to avoid damaging the buried utility. Also provided is a method of drilling a substantially horizontal hole under a roadway using a horizontal drill that is controlled by a computer system connected to an under-roadway detection unit that detects a buried utility and stops movement or changes direction of the drill to avoid damaging the buried utility.
WORK MACHINE
A work machine includes a work device having a boom, an arm, and work equipment and a controller that sets a target surface, and calculates a work equipment-to-target surface distance on the basis of signals from a position sensor and a posture sensor, and controls the boom and carries out deceleration control to decelerate the arm to keep the work equipment from excavating ground beyond the target surface when operation of the arm is carried out and the work equipment-target surface distance has become shorter than a predetermined distance. The controller determines whether or not there is a possibility that the work equipment enters the target surface when operation of the arm is carried out based on the set target surface and the signals from the position sensor and the posture sensor, and does not carry out the deceleration control even when the work equipment-to-target surface distance is shorter than the predetermined distance in the case in which it is determined that there is no possibility that the work equipment enters the target surface.
Electrical protection apparatus
Provided is electrical protection apparatus for operative fitment to a portion of the machinery operable near an electrical conductor and to generate a signal via electromagnetic induction. Also included is a signal isolator configured to electrically isolate the sensor. Also included is a controller arranged in signal communication with the isolator. The controller is configured to monitor the signal and to: i) record a log of movement commands executed by the control system; ii) if the signal reaches a predetermined threshold, override the control system so that the portion of the machinery is only maneuverable to reduce the signal below the predetermined threshold; iii) if the signal exceeds the predetermined threshold, override the control system and execute the most recent movement commands in reverse to automatically manoeuvre the portion of the machinery away from the conductor; and iv) if the signal reaches and/or exceeds the predetermined threshold, activate the indicator.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AVOIDING UTILITY STRIKES BY CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT
A GPR (ground penetrating radar) system includes a digging machine having a bucket, a GPR unit and a post-processing unit. The GPR unit is mounted on the bucket and includes at least one GPR antenna and a data processor. Both the at least one antenna and the data processor are mounted within the bucket. The data processor detects a presence of a hazard during a progressive removal of layers of soil. The post-processing unit is installed in a cabin of the digging machine and provides an alert when the data processor detects the hazard during the removal of soil.
