This application is an accumulation of various patent pending applications showing multiple configurations for connecting metal framing components together where the metal framing members are self-locking connectors that intersect, overlap, between other securing the metal support members together. The connections between the metal framing members uses various types of notches in the support members and notches in the metal framing member to secure metal framing together by using hook fingers, hook tongue, hook receivers, ledges, and tabs to secure the crossing members together forming the self-locking connections. The metal framing components have various longitudinal ends allowing where the longitudinal ends can have the same configuration or different configurations and still be an overlapping interlocking connection.

Deck framing system

A deck framing system includes a ledger that has a joist support wall, a web wall extending perpendicularly from the joist support wall, and an overhang wall extending perpendicularly from the web wall and disposed parallel to the joist support wall. Each of a plurality of joist support brackets is configured to be coupled to the web wall of the ledger and includes at least one ledger attachment wing and a joist support portion that includes a pair of opposed lateral walls and a bracket web wall. Each of a plurality of joists includes at least one lateral wall and a deck support wall that extend from the at least one lateral wall. The at least one lateral wall is configured to be secured to one of the opposed lateral walls of the joist support portion.

A method of manufacturing a metal stud from a sheet of cold rolled steel includes the steps of: forming a central spine along a longitudinal centre of the sheet; forcing material outwardly from the central spine to form a thin central zone having a reduced thickness; forming embossments in at least the thin central zone; and forming the sheet into a generally C-shaped member. A stud made from a sheet of cold rolled steel includes a web and a pair of flanges. The web has an elongate central spine, a thin central zone and embossments extending outwardly from the elongate central spine. The pair of flanges extend generally orthogonally from the web. A stud system includes at least two studs and a bridging member extending between adjacent studs.

A building is constructed from a plurality of rectangular wall sections secured to one another. At least some wall sections are formed of an upper and a lower beam, vertical studs extending between the upper and lower beams and a wall panel secured to the beams and to the studs. In the invention, each beam is formed of an elongate metal sheet folded through a right angle about at least one longitudinally extending line to define at least a horizontal first plate, and a vertical second. A plurality of separately formed sheet metal brackets are secured to at least one of the plates of the folded metal sheet at preset distances from one another along the length of the beam and secured to the ends of the studs.

Deck framing system

Embodiments of the present disclosure include a deck framing system formed of light gauge steel. The thickness of the light gauge steel components may be different among particular components depending on the load carried by the particular component and depending on the forming method for fabrication of the particular component. The deck framing system includes a ledger in which bracket slots are formed. The bracket slots are spaced apart from each other along a length of the ledger. Each bracket slot receives a joist support bracket. Each of the joist support brackets are received within an end of a joist. According to certain embodiments, the joists are generally in a closed box-like shape. The deck surface is laid on top of and supported by the joists.
