Panel and methods for manufacturing panels
A method is provided for manufacturing a panel that includes a substrate and a top layer provided on the substrate. The top layer may include a decor film and a transparent film. The decor film may be a printed synthetic material film chosen from the group consisting of a vinyl-based film, a polyethylene based film, a polyurethane based film, and a polypropylene film. A print may be situated on an upper side of the printed synthetic material film. The transparent film may be a thermoplastic synthetic material film the material of which is chosen from the group consisting of polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polyurethane, and polypropylene. The method may involve providing the decor film and the transparent film on the substrate by performing a first press treatment at an increased temperature to form a package of the substrate, the decor film, and the transparent film. The first press treatment may be performed by a calendar device or a continuous press device. A structure may be formed in the thermoplastic synthetic material that forms a surface of the package by performing a second press treatment using a press device with a structured press element at a temperature that is lower than the increased temperature.
Underlayment Tile and Method of Laying a Modular Surface Covering System
The invention relates to a method for laying a modular surface covering system on a surface to the covered and an underlayment element for use in such a method and modular surface covering system. The underlayment element includes a planar base with a raised edge along two interconnected sides of the underlayment element. First coupling elements in the form of recesses are provided along the two sides with the raised edge and second coupling elements in the form of protruding tongues are provided along the other two interconnected sides. The finishing layer elements are clamped between raised edges of coupled underlayment elements. The top surface of a raised edge between finishing layer element provides the grout effect. The underlayment elements enables one to lay a surface covering system with a multitude of pattern, e.g. as grid pattern, brickwork pattern, herringbone pattern, etc.
INTERLOCKING BUILDING PANEL
A construction panel for installation on a construction surface and interlocking connection to a another construction panel comprises a moisture barrier base to inhibit migration of moisture from the construction surface. The base has a pair of opposed first connector edges comprising a first pair of releasable mating elements, and a pair of opposed second connector edges comprising a second pair of releasable mating elements. A plurality of projections extend from the underside of the base for support and to permit air circulation and drainage of water between the base and the construction surface. In one embodiment, an upper panel having selected physical characteristics is attached to the base. The positioning of the first and second pairs of mating elements on the first and second pairs of connector edges enables the interconnection of entire or partial construction panels.
Edge attached film-foam sheet
The present disclosure generally relates to devices and methods for furniture protection. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to foam-film sheets configured to protect furniture from damage. An exemplary foam-film sheet as disclosed herein includes a sheet of foam material having a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge; a sheet of film material having a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge; a first seal between a portion of the foam material proximate its first lateral edge and a portion of the film material proximate its first lateral edge; and a second seal between a portion of the foam material proximate its second lateral edge and a portion of the film material proximate its second lateral edge, wherein the film and foam are substantially unsealed along the entire transverse width between the first and second sealed portions near the lateral edges of the foam material.
Vertically lapped fibrous flooring
A flooring assembly (10) comprising at least one vertically lapped fibrous material layer (14), at least one pressure sensitive adhesive layer (12a) including a flexible substrate (12b), a mesh (12c) and an adhesive (12d) located along the flexible substrate, and at least one moisture impermeable membrane layer (16).
Fire rated glass flooring
A fire rated glass flooring system having blast and/or seismic loading resistance, comprising: (a) a plurality of glass flooring units (100a, 100b), each unit comprising a first layer (116) of glass and a second layer (118) of glass, the two layers being positioned one above the other and separated by one or more load transferring means (120a, 120b), wherein the first layer of glass is a structural glass and the second layer of glass is a fire rated glass, and having an upper surface and an edge comprising a load-transferring means of the one or more load transferring means; (b) one or more beams (112), arranged, in use, to support the units, wherein, at a boundary between two adjacent flooring units, the two flooring units are arranged, in use, to be secured to a beam of the one or more beams; and (c) one or more expansion joints (110), each arranged, in use, at the boundary between two adjacent flooring units. Each expansion joint comprises: (i) two clips (200a, 200b), each clip being arranged, in use, to be connected to the load-transferring means in one of the two flooring units; (ii) a resilient seal (202) arranged, in use, to sit between the two clips, the seal extending substantially to the upper surface of the two units; and (iii) a drainage means (204), the drainage means being located substantially below the seal and the two clips, and arranged, in use, to capture and drain away any liquid which passes the seal.
DECOUPLING WEB
The invention relates to a decoupling web (1), in particular intended for use for a surface covering structure (2) which can be covered with covering elements, preferably tile coverings, having a carrier web (3) and a multiplicity of nubs (5) projecting from the carrier web plane (4), the carrier web (3) having as material a, preferably thermoplastic, plastic. According to the invention, it is provided that the carrier web (3) comprises as material a copolymer comprising ethylene and vinyl acetate, in particular a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate, preferably ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), and/or consists thereof.
FLOORING UNDERLAYMENT SYSTEM
A system for underlayment of a flooring has at least two foam panels having and a complementary under step portion on one side an an overstep portion on an opposite side. The understep portion has an adhesive strip with a release liner. The panels are joined by placing the overstep portion of one panel over the understep portion of an adjacent panel and removing the release liner. The overstep portion is then adhered to the overstep portion to seal the panels together. A method of grinding foam strips to form the panels is disclosed.
Field-assembled flooring systems
Described herein are methods for installing field-assembled flooring systems wherein the underlayment is a hybrid design that includes a combination of structural board and cementitious product. The hybrid design is configured to reduce or eliminate the curing time requirement after pouring the cementitious product (e.g., gypsum concrete). The field-assembled flooring systems can reduce or eliminate the chances of the onset of mold due to high moisture levels by removing the cementitious product from the prone areas and replacing it with structural boards. The structural boards (e.g., cellulose fiberboards) can be installed in non-critical areas such as underneath cabinets, around the perimeter of the floor, under bathtubs, in non-walk-in closets, anywhere drywall reaches the floor, or the like.
