INSULATED TRELLIS MAT

An electrically insulated trellis comprises a first array of parallel tubular members 2 and a second array of parallel tubular members 4. Each of the second array of parallel tubular members 4 is pivotably connected to a plurality of the first array of parallel tubular members 2 whereby to form a trellis 1. Each of the tubular members is formed from glass-reinforced polymer. A first set of fibres in the glass-reinforced polymer are substantially parallel and aligned in a first direction and a second set of fibres in the glass-reinforced polymer, distinct from the first set, are substantially parallel and aligned in a second direction different to the first direction.

FALL RESTRAINT SYSTEM

The present system for fall restraint includes a mounting frame connected to a trigger mechanism and firing blocks, with a trigger cable extending through apertures in the mounting frame and trigger mechanism. Sudden movement by a user, such as a fall, actuates the trigger mechanism to trigger the firing blocks. The firing blocks are loaded with anchors and firing cartridges. Triggering the firing blocks causes the cartridges to fire, propelling the anchors into an anchoring surface, such as a roof. Because the user is connected to the trigger cable, once the anchors deploy the user is anchored to the roof and their fall arrested.

Safety barrier netting system

A system for substantially enclosing the periphery of a building top with a netting system which is easily and efficiently movable or reconfigurable during the building construction process comprises a lightweight netting system for extending above a completed work area or floor, a strong lightweight structural support system for the netting, wherein the structural support system is vertically adjustable via slidable engagement with brackets attached to the floors which are already completed, provides enhanced safety for workers and for pedestrians below by preventing passage of workers or debris through the netting and enhances efficiency of construction by providing an easily reconfigurable, inexpensive and lightweight system for providing such enhanced safety.

Adjustable Debris Collection Apparatus For Maritime Vessels And Associated Methods

A debris collection apparatus for a maritime vessel includes a shroud and a plurality of support structures. Each of the plurality support structures include a boot defining a cavity and configured to be secured to the vessel, a foot sized to fit within the cavity, a staff cap, a stabilizer base configured to be secured to the vessel, an elevational staff section connected to the foot and the staff cap terminal, and a horizontal staff section connected to the staff cap and the stabilizer base. The foot is inserted into the boot to secure the support structures in a rigid position, and the shroud is connected to both staff caps and the vessel. The stabilizer base can include a connection loop, and the shroud can be configured to be connected to the connection loop in order to connect the shroud to the vessel.

Platform system

A platform system includes a support structure of variable length; a platform mountable on the support structure; and a plurality of platform supports for supporting the platform. At least one of the platform supports is slideably mounted on the support structure such that it is slideable with respect to the support structure. At least one of the platform supports includes a spacing element, which extends between that platform support and an adjacent one of the platform supports and engages the adjacent platform support, such that the maximum spacing between those platform supports is limited by the spacing element.

TIP-OVER POST

A tip over post includes a stanchion. The stanchion includes an annular cylinder. The annular cylinder includes a number of cuts defined along the longitudinal axis of the cylinder. A stanchion includes an annular cylinder. The annular cylinder includes a number of helical cuts defmed along the longitudinal axis of the cylinder. The helical cuts comprise a number of perforations located along the helical cuts. The load the stanchion is to bear is based at least in part on the number of perforations located along the helical cuts. A method of arresting a fall includes installing a tip over post, and arresting a fall using the moment and linear expansion of the annular cylinder. The tip over post includes an annular cylinder including a number of helical cuts defined along the longitudinal axis of the cylinder. The helical cuts comprise a number of perforations located along the helical cuts.

Fall protection apparatus

A fall protection apparatus includes a heavy support base with a pivotal mast having a top member for rotation around the axis of the mast carrying a series of booms pivotal about respective vertical axes, each having an end coupling member for receiving a fall restraint harness. Each boom is formed by a tube which fractures on a fall and an elongate stainless steel strap inside the tube which bends without fracturing. The mast includes a series of telescopic rectangular mast sections with a winch driven cable and pulley arrangement for extending the first section which acts to pull the second inner section to the extended position as the first inner section moves out of the outer section. Each section includes first and second pulleys mounted at the same face of the section with the cable located between the face of the section and the face of the next section.

ROPE EDGE PROTECTOR

A rope edge protector for protecting a rope as is passes over an edge during rope access and rope rescue is described. The rope edge protector comprises a body with a curved channel portion on an outer surface configured to receive at least one rope, wherein the channel portion is enclosed by a pair of side walls; a first underside surface configured for placement on a first face of an edge; and a second underside surface forming a dihedral angle with the first underside surface and configured for placement on a second face of an edge. An attachment mechanism comprising a strap connects the body to a second body and to a cam for tensioning the strap between the bodies to secure the bodies to opposing edges.

ANTI-PANIC CABLE GRAB

The cable grab safety device releasably attaches a workman's safety lanyard to a steel cable. A primary frame constructed of an elongated U-shaped bracket having a pair of spaced apart parallel side plates fits around the cable. A secondary frame also comprised of a pair of side plates fits within the U-shaped bracket after the cable is inserted. The secondary frame carries a brake in the form of a pulley mounted in an elongated slot movable toward or away from the cable. A lever attached to a worker's lanyard moves the pulley only in the inward direction to engage the cable in the event of a fall. A bent pin connected between the primary and secondary frames allows for limited pivotal and axial movement between them allowing the cable to be inserted into the U-shaped bracket. A separate locking pin secures the frame members together.
