METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DEADBOLT POSITION SENSING
The present disclosure is directed to an electronic deadbolt control system including a deadbolt configured to extend or retract between a locked position and an unlocked position, respectively. An output shaft connected between a final gear and the deadbolt is configured to transmit an actuation force to the deadbolt from an electric motor. A first magnet and a second magnet are associated with the final gear to define a home position for either a left hand deadbolt or a right hand deadbolt. A cam is positioned on the output shaft to engage with a switch such that, in combination with a threshold current motor output, the control system determines whether the deadbolt is in an extended position or a retracted position. A thumb-turn shaft is disengaged from the final gear in the home position to permit manual actuation of a thumb-turn.
DOOR LOCK DETECTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods for detecting whether a door lock bolt is engaged with a doorjamb recess in a locked position are provided. Certain of the systems and methods described herein detect engagement between a door lock bolt and doorjamb recess using a motor current signature. Certain of the systems and methods described herein detect engagement between a door lock bolt and door jamb recess using a bolt vibration signature.
ELECTRONIC LOCK AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING THE ELECTRONIC LOCK
An electronic lock includes a lock mechanism operable to change a state thereof between a lock state and an unlock state, and an electric control device including a motor module and a controller. The motor module is electrically operable to perform a lock operation or an unlock operation on the lock mechanism. The controller is configured to, when the lock mechanism changes the state thereof, determine whether a driving current provided to drive operation of the motor module satisfies a predetermined current condition. The controller stops driving operation of the motor module after determining at least that the driving current satisfies the predetermined current condition.
DOOR LOCK DETECTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods for detecting whether a door lock bolt is engaged with a door jamb recess in a locked position is provided. Certain of the systems and methods described herein detect engagement between a door lock bolt and door jamb recess using a motor current signature. Certain of the systems and methods described herein detect engagement between a door lock bolt and door jamb recess using a bolt vibration signature.
Electronic lock device and operation method of the same
An electronic lock device includes a lock mechanism, an actuation mechanism that actuates the lock mechanism, and a control unit including a processor and a current detection module. During an operation in which the actuation mechanism is activated to start switching the lock mechanism from an original state to an intended state, the current detection module continuously detects an amount of electric current flowing through the actuation mechanism. When the amount of electric current is greater than a predetermined threshold, the processor controls the actuation mechanism to switch the lock mechanism back to the original state, and deactivates the actuation mechanism.
LATCH ACTUATOR AND METHOD OF ACTUATING A LATCH
A latch actuator comprises a motor, a speed reduction gearing coupled to an output shaft of the motor, a spindle, and a motion conversion mechanism. The spindle has a threaded portion in engagement with the speed reduction gearing. The spindle is supported to be rotatable about an axis. The threaded portion is rotationally fixed relative to the spindle. The motion conversion mechanism is configured to cause a displacement of the spindle along the axis when the spindle rotates.
ELECTRONIC LOCK
An electronic lock for securing a door or access panel. The electronic lock includes a housing and a plunger that is moveably mounted to the housing between a latched position of the electronic lock and an unlatched position of the electronic lock. A rotator is rotatably mounted to the housing between an unlocked position and a locked position. In the locked position of the rotator, the plunger is prevented from moving to the unlatched position, and, in the unlocked position of the rotator, the plunger is permitted to move to the unlatched position. A motor has an output shaft that is configured to rotate the rotator between the locked position and the unlocked position. A spring is configured to resist movement of the output shaft between the locked position and the unlocked position.
Lock
A lock comprising a housing assembly, an actuatable lock assembly and a locking shell assembly. The housing assembly has a cavity and a bore. The actuatable lock assembly is rotatable between a closed orientation and an open orientation, and includes an outer body and an inner body. The inner body has a knob and an elongated shaft with an axial pin that interfaces with a slot in the outer body. The locking shell assembly has a shell housing bore extending therethrough. A rear portion of the shell housing has a slot with a longitudinal first portion and a transverse second portion. The axial pin is slidably movable along the longitudinal first portion and slidably movable along the transverse second portion upon rotation of the inner body relative to the shell housing.
Door lock detection systems and methods
Systems and methods for detecting whether a door lock bolt is engaged with a door jamb recess in a locked position are provided. Certain of the systems and methods described herein detect engagement between a door lock bolt and door jamb recess using a motor current signature. Certain of the systems and methods described herein detect engagement between a door lock bolt and door jamb recess using a bolt vibration signature.
