Retainer housing for a door check

A retainer housing, in particular for a door check (30), includes a first housing part (2) with a cavity (3) for receiving a brake body (50) and a spring system (40) of a door check (30). The first housing part (2) has a first end (2b) and a second end (2c), and a closing piece (104) which is situated on one of the first end (2b) and second end (2c) of the housing part. The closing piece (104) has an upper face (104a) and a lower face (104b). Multiple elevations (6) are arranged on the lower face (4b; 104b) of the closing piece (4; 104), concentrically around a centre point of the lower face (4b; 104b). The elevations (6) have a stop face (7) for a spring system (40) of a door check (30).

The system can include a handle unit, a wedge unit slidably associated with handle unit, and a chock unit attachable with the handle unit and slidably associated with the edge unit. The chock unit includes a triangularly shaped chock and a shaft including multiple locking holes. The wedge unit includes a button that is engageable with the locking holes to lock the chock in a space apart relation with wedge sides of the wedge unit. The chock unit is rotatable allowing for insertion into a doorjamb, while the spacing between the chock and the wedge sides is adjustable to clamp a corner of a door frame and a door therebetween. The handle unit can include an electronic device such as a light.

Each of the grips can engage a respective half of the door hinge for retaining the stop on the door hinge. A pair of pads is provided and each of the pads is coupled to a respective one of the wings to abut a respective half of the door hinge when the stop is positioned on the door hinge.
