A slip resistant hinge system for doors and, in particular, frameless glass doors, is provided. The hinge includes a dovetail-shaped central raised portion that minimizes or prevents the possibility of the glass slipping when secured to the hinge. The dovetail-shaped central raised portion can be designed as part of the hinge or can be created by inserts positioned around the central raised portion of the hinge. In operation, a corresponding dovetail-shaped opening is cut into the door for receiving the hinge.

A shower door hinge assembly includes a mount, an upper member, a lower member, a body, a plurality of gears, and a stop member. The mount is configured to be coupled to a fixed structure. The upper member is coupled to an upper portion of the mount, and the lower member is coupled to a lower portion of the mount. The body is rotatably coupled to the mount and is configured to be coupled to a pivotable shower door, wherein the body includes an inner wall having a plurality of splines defining a ring gear. The plurality of gears are disposed in the body and are configured to permit relative rotational movement between the body and the upper and lower members. The stop member is removably coupled between the inner wall of the body and one or more gears of the plurality of gears, and is configured to be selectively removed from, and repositioned within, the body to set a rotational endpoint for a pivotable shower door.

Adjustable hinge assembly

A shower door enclosure has fixed and pivotable hinge halves which can be preinstalled to fixed and pivotable panels, respectively. One or both of the hinge halves can be adjusted at the installation site without hinge disassembly. In particular, each hinge half may be mounted to its respective panel via a fastener passing through the panel and into a floating bushing. The floating bushing is received in a seat formed in the body of the hinge half. The bushing and seat are shaped to prevent continuous rotation of the bushing within the seat, allowing the fastener to be tightened against the panel without requiring external access to the bushing. Upon assembly of the door panel to the adjacent fixed panel via the respective hinge halves, the bushings may be allowed to float laterally and vertically within the hinge bodies while the panels are adjusted to a proper orientation, and the fasteners may then be tightened to fix the panels in place.

A fixation seat having a first guiding element and a second guiding element mounted inside of a hinge mechanism is mounted at a wall or a frame's surface. A first guided assembly and a second guided assembly are mounted at the fixation seat and respectively guided by the first guiding element and the second guiding element to move away from each other or move back. A movable assembly comprises a movable and pivotable shaft mounted through the fixation seat and optionally connected to the first guided assembly or the second guided assembly. A door is mounted at the movable assembly and pivots relative to the surface through the shaft. The movable assembly lifts and lowers the door via the shaft, connected one of the guided assemblies, guided by the guiding elements, so the hinge mechanism is adaptable to install the door at left-side or right-side surfaces.
